Agreed. And I would add This Heart on that list. All of them are very personal and far from the regular romantic pop route she usually does.

I wish! She did a number of songs with him. Glad we got Hurts, despite how rough the overall production is, it was clearly going to be a standout in her discography.

Yeah This Heart, If I Fall and Hurts with mastering would've really helped that songwriting quota for her album, especially since she had a hand in all of them.
 

But other songs like It All Starts Tonight, Feel Alive, and Carry On are great ones in her songwriting bag as well.

I really enjoyed Carry On, but felt that BIBO (song) is far superior and covers similar ground lyrically so I get why it was left out. Plus the lyric "it wasn't fighting, it wasn't lies" would've been camp if it was followed by Lies on the tracklist lol

Oh Picture This ...the black sheep of BIBO that she is. Hurts did really deserve that spot.

 

There's a great song in there somewhere it just needed some ... adjustments? (and a less screechy chorus). That bridge is 🔥 though I'll give it that

I just wish Carry On was a bit longer, maybe repeating the chorus again in the end. 
 

And for some reason my brain always associate Carry On to one of the Greatest Showman's songs and a P!nk too. 😅

She demoed quite a few songs with them; Better Days, Breathing Room, Neighborhood, Snowglobe, Take It For What It Is, and probably a few others we know nothing about. Jason Evigan also rejoined the project alongside Ross Golan in early 2014, but I don't recall finding out a title/s from their sessions.

I knew about Better Days and Snow Globe, and from the better days demo things didn't sound promising. 🤫

But I don't recall knowing they worked on Neighborhood. That's a nice one, much much better than Picture This!

According to Genius, Neighborhood was written by Hilary with Ross Golan, Jason Evigan and two others. Normally I don't necessarily take Genius as a source as people can contribute to it, but it's too specific.

 

Hilary recorded so much for This Heart -> BIBO. We know she recorded more than an album's worth of demos prior to signing to RCA in March 2024. From April - September, she probably recorded about two more albums worth of material. 
 

Then after Younger wrapped she recorded an EP worth of material with tracks 1-8 all making the cut from those sessions.

 

26/50+ tracks wasn't too bad. 

 

I don't think we're getting nearly as much material this time around, but hopefully we won't have to wait as long for the next project.

I remember a couple years ago when Phoebe Ryan blasted Hilary for not being able to sing and that the songs she was a writer on were all terrible.

you know what she doesn't sound *that* bad, she was just being a b word towards Hilary, the song is straight up horrible no one could save that song  and also the production on I'll be good sucks too nnnn I don't know who was in charge of that one. I only have those two besides the leaks from 2019

I really liked Sparks, and she has a few amazing bops in her catalog. I hope she releases another banger like Come Clean. 

 

I'll admit I used to strongly dislike her as an alternative teen. But I have a soft spot for her as an alternative adult 

 

She's just so endearing, wholesome and talented. I like her energy.

Glad you're around to support her comeback. Make sure to pre-save/stream the lead single, pre-order an album variant, and attend a future concert once everything has been announced.

we know she's taking a 2 decade long hiatus after the tour so lets really soak in this era 

If her team really is dropping hints in instagram posts, i will not be happy with this swiftie detective work that we need to do to get any information.
