currently suffering through the trials and tribulations of trying to keep up with all the unreleased tracks I've missed since I last updated my library in... 2023 

 

and then, even worse, trying to figure out how the hell to organize hundreds of unreleased tracks  I want to do like, additional discs on top of the albums that the tracks were for, or the sessions during which they were recorded at least, but in some cases that's longer than the actual album - and then I have to make up a track list so it flows, and I have to decide if it makes any sense to put things next to Pop 2 and N1A because of how those were conceptualized, and... well it's hard out here that's all

keeping up with this woman's unreleased material is impossible, I just found out about so many tracks I've never heard before that are AMAZING, like Castles and Stay and Nosebleed - how did she ever find the time to record all this, how do some of these songs not get released, I'm so overwhelmed but also getting my life

Came home today to an original, sealed 2014 US Target copy of Sucker in the mail today it came with the sticker sheet and everything, wild throwback to see that when I cracked it open!

We really do not talk enough about how Doing It (the whole reason I bought this album) is a crucial step on the way to alllll the other amazing tracks she's go on to build. Obviously it was made with a producer she'd already worked with and isn't the original, foundational building block of her sound, but I do think it's maybe the most important early moment. The way it builds and the way it approaches elements like its melody and the manipulated vocal samples throughout are things that I thing very directly inform future tracks with other producers and thread the needle such that we see Charli's own mind and identity at work in the production. Do we get tracks like Track 10, Focus, No Angel, Gone, Forever, Party 4 U, Visions, Constant Repeat, Twice, Lightning (!!), and a bunch of Brat tracks if we take Doing It out of the Charli canon and lineage? I mean, maybe I'm biased because it was my first ever favorite song as a young person off a CD I bought with my own money earned at my own job in college. Maybe it's the nostalgia factor. But it's way more critical, I think, than it's given credit for. I'm so happy to have a lossless copy of it in my library again and I'll never let go of it again!

And also **** that remix version of it so hard and **** her label for DELETING the original solo version of it from essentially every site, service, and retailer, even this copy tried to import into my library with a "feat. Rita Ora" tag bc the original is ******* purged from so many databases
