The alleged collabs I’m here for but I’m also here for newer collabs. I just don’t want a Jay Z collab.

That list of collabs was made by a known troll. Ive been following that user on twitter for many years. It’s crazy how everyone jumped on his tweet like that and believed it. Some Hive are very gullible.

There’s nothing to complain about today. The songs sound fun and the producers have a history of releasing bops.
When you hear Max Martin, do you immediately jump and say “oh my god, we are getting a Blinding Lights” or do you go “oh crap, we are getting a Selena Gomez reject.” Just wait before complaining

Spoiler

The fact that Ive become one of those users that complain about people complaining was not part of my fantasy

I saw someone trying to shade the ''friends'' producer earlier, really? I know music is subjective but Friends on EIL is one of the best tracks Beyoncé been on ever. Just because that album didn't have a huge success, let's stop acting like it was trash.

Are we talking streams here? We could only hope :jonnycat:

Maybe close in streams, but bigger overall in SPS. Kendrick did 343 million and looking at another R&B girl... Summer Walker did 200 million. Bey will be closer to Kendrick than Summer and she will have physical sales on top of that + a WW hit supporting the album. Kendrick also has less Spotify monthly listeners than Bey at 39 million with a whole album out while Bey has 42 million. She's being underestimated me thinks. All of us thought BMS would debut with 2-3 million lbr. :rip:

Why are people turning up their nose at the inclusion of writer/producers from TG/EIL like those weren't solid albums?? Don't let the numbers make you suddenly trash the music like EIL isn't full of bops & TG doesn't have some of the greatest work of her career. So fake & numbers driven.

Personally I am relieved to see some of these recognizable names...like I said before...it was never in Beyonce's best interest to be making no full-on House album anyway. I imagine its going to be a fusion of sounds...giving something new mixed in with familiar sounds. Just like BMS had bounce, rap, & gospel in it. Not being married to 1 singular genre that could alienate her core R&B/pop fanbase over the last 20+ years.

Plus Beyonce is going to put her stamp on everything she does including mixing & matching production from various producers to make 1 song as she has done several times before.

The gift and EIL had similar producers. One album sounded like a Classic hip hop album and the other was Afro beat. Two completely different sounding albums…. get where I’m going with this?

But both albums are similarly forgotten next to ST/Lem which had superior, memorable writing and production

That was not the point…. We’re talking in the context of versatility lol

furthermore. Find your way back, bigger and other side are stomping on 3/4 of lemonade tracks when it comes to writing and production. Let’s talk about it

Actually I love the gift.  Afrobeats is my **** and last last is currently top 3 song of the summer for me.

It’s more so the EIL producers. I liked some songs but Bey and Jay did come off so out of touch on the album for me. Felt rushed, it had potential though.

The gift was a great album. It’s better than a few of her solo projects. Find your way back is a top tier song. Some of us are allowing the lack of commercial success for these projects to cloud our opinion. :coffee2:

First off, EIL is one of my favorite projects ever.

They made music about their life & reality...when Beyonce is "in touch" with people (see: BMS)...folks make think pieces about that too.

I'm not insecure about not being a billionaire....therefore all the songs were bops (minus 713).

I don't see any song as sounding "rushed" either...lyrics, production, arrangements were on point across the board. Plus Beyonce shined vocally on that album more than she did on Lemonade.

Already Brown Skin Girl Water are all masterpieces too

The biggest producers on the album are likely not even known yet

how exciting is that !!!

I don’t care about commercial success and never have but I don’t like EIL and don’t really care for the gift, which throws a wrench in the whole generalization and casting aspersions on people who don’t think the way you do

However, lemonade will forever be iconic.

It’s also a good thing that Bey worked with people she knows and trusts. Remember she recorded this in her home studio during a pandemic. There’s isn’t room for too much experimentation and the album shouldn’t be just that. We aldo need the GP friendly bops.

As a producer, if you get a call back from Beyoncé, that’s because she wants you to deliver one specific thing.
Hold on to your disco horses. The collapse is coming

Hive wouldve been against the idea of Beyoncé working with Diplo again after Run The World. But she brought him back and he delivered Hold Up and All Night.

I don't either, I never have.  I like the music, Lemonade, Beyonce, and 4 were all game changers for music in general.  She created sounds, and did new things.

But I'm not feeling the reject Drake tracks again.  That Snippet of the Drake track that didn't cut it floating around that are undoubtedly written by that team isn't exciting to me.  We've already had that.   It has nothing to do with success.

I'll stop being negative but one thing I've always stood by is that EIL was below both Jay and Bey. I loved 4:44, the stories within the songs are gorgeous as are the productions.

looking down on EIL after it followed Lemonade is  nothing to do with sales... it was just an unambitious, uninspired project. It has its moments ( Summer has become an all time fav) but its just not great overall.

I feel the same about The Gift. The writing rarely slaps, there are no iconic lines or inventive story telling. There are few musical moments to tug on my wig  (biggers bridge/otherside harp and lower register are exceptions) but I just found both albums to be very Mid. Not bad, but certainly not up their with the quality I expect from my fave

Each to their own
