I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

ACR is so dumb imo. Billboard is far from perfect, but the Hot 100 is a better reflection of what’s currently popular compared to the UK Singles Chart. I’m also a defender of album bombs vs. the UK’s 3 songs from 1 album rule too.

I disagree. Music charts will become increasingly less diverse without it. Historically charts were based of people discovering new music and making new purchases, not how many times someone repeatedly played a song at home. Now it's based off repetitive re-listens, playlisting and alglorithms. It's highly discriminatory against ballads, intense songs, songs of notable length etc. It's essentially like rewarding fast food for being fast, whilst making it harder for gourmet food to be seen.

Half of the historic charts would vanish if repeated re-listens were driving the charts.

I’d love for her to occupy the same space in pop music post-Break My Soul that Fat Man Scoop did the 90’s/2000’s.

Album bombs are dumg AF too, you have top 10 songs which are there for one week and never to be heard of again, no awareness amongst the general GP. Let streams which are clearly just derived from album listening contribute towards the album charts. And the inverse of that too, albums with no streams outside of the singles shouldn't really be charting high on the album charts.

I guess we have no choice but to have Savage Remix on the next tour, Bey actually has 2 proper verses so she can perform a solo version. I always found Feeling Myself performances pointless because there was just no meat to it. Savage however can be a real moment :WAP:

“Changed the game with that Renaissance drop” I need this!! Just to read the lashings on here:lmao:

I actually agree.

Oh wow. She was not credited on the UK charts for the remix and I didn't think it was that big tbh.

I'm personally hoping for some songs where bey is SANGING. Because I have noticed it is those songs that stay with me more in the long run. The songs she loses herself in the beats and rhythms of and gives us heavenly harmonies. I lowkey also want her eventual power-ballad (i'm thinking 8 minutes, Celine Its all coming back to me type song). And am sure it can find space within a "thrilling abundance" of music.

I didn't know how much I needed this until you said it. I would self combust with a 5+ minutes long ballad :jonny:

UK charts> US charts imo.

That's due to (another) stupid UK chart rule. Remixes require the label to specifically request the credit change, otherwise it's just the original that gets credited. That's why the majority of remixes don't get credited in the UK.

For example, "Perfect Duet" was massive here and sold enough in the first week to go to #1 without any of the sales/streams from the original included. Yet the original was the one credited. :toofunny3:

But really what was the point of announcing the album 6 weeks before, if they are not gonna do anything in those weeks?

I was thinking at least a video or a performance would come, but NOTHING?? I don't know, i just don't understand this from the business perspective.

I miss seeing her perform tbh, i hope we at least get a performance, if we are not getting a video for this song :jonny:

Kind of nervous about first week sales now. If there’s no video or any promotion going into the album release. “The omg Beyoncé just dropped a surprise album” word of mouth factor is gone. IDK, I hope the momentum will still be there with all this silence.

Yeah that stupid chart rule. The remix got a lot of radio play though
