Beyoncé

This is part 1 of the Beyoncé discussion.

I think someone else might have mentioned this already, but for me, the most exciting possibility would be a trilogy act tour announcement. It would create anticipation for Act III, with both announcements feeding into each others hype. The idea of each act having its own unique concept and production is exciting. I'd love to see how she weaves her older works into each act's sound. She's at her best when she reimagines her songs for the live stage, and I can only image how this would push her to come up with some incredible arrangements.

On a more selfish note, I'd also prefer not to feel compelled to travel overseas just for a CC tour. As much as I love CC, I know I'd cave and end up booking flights anyway. My self control when it comes to Bey is basically nonexistent.

The only thing that is deliberate is B keeping us confused and in the dark. She has long mastered the art of using confusion and people not knowing what is coming to her advantage.

So.... the next three weeks will be... good luck to us

tbh we only care abt the renaissance visuals.

Like, I haven't seen anyone talk about "COWBOY CARTER" visuals, aside from 5 songs.

"RENAISSANCE" is carrying Evhoville for dear life‼️

Now that some time has passed, I kinda want to express some disagreement in approach I have with B and her live performances (televised) lately. I had this realization after someone else expressed it in a gc.

The Halftime was epic and B is unmatched and it really highlighted that she is the best to do it. Yes. However, I do think she is selling herself short and not doing these shows complete justice (I have reasons for why too).

She's been on this approach of performing as much of the album as she can - so it basically becomes a medley and no song gets to be performed in full (or near complete). When I think back to all favorite B televised performances, where her complete talent shines like no other, it is when she allows herself to perform a song fully. She then completely gets INTO it, embodies it, creates changes for live version, has some insane intro, build up and epic end. The audience then truly gets to appreciate and feel the song.

In this medley approach, people don't get a real taste of the song. I'm sorry but ya ya left me wanting more. I wanted more Stevie Wonder tribute style. 3 maybe 4 songs but full treatment and she can get into the song and its vibe - B is UNMATCHED once she's in that zone. Allow the audience to feel the music. Embody it. Here we get basically a snippet of the song and half of that is mixed with other instrumentals. That is my only complain and more than a complain it is just an unfulfilled desire. Texas was the highlight for me and it was the song that got its full shine. I can go on but its just sad to me cuz the songs are sold short. It feels like a teaser for the album and if that is what she wants, good for her, but I am a little bored (+and I think it sells her and her music short). She is the best to do it and I want the incredible televised performances B used to do for her full songs - they stand on their own as incredible unmatched moments - outside tours.

I believe there are a few things keeping her stuck to this approach.

She repeats what works for her. This show had a lot of coachella energy. VMA's medley energy.

She is trying to "uplift" constantly. She wants to shine light on all these other talents and history - the marching bands, the cowgirls, the black cowboy imagery, etc. etc.

Neither are bad things - they are good! They just leave me wanting for something else that I miss.

I disagree. if she's going to do 1 performance for the era, it's more valuable to showcase the variety and depth of the album as a whole. TEXAS HOLD EM would have been the most boring part of the performance imo if not for the Blue Ivy appearance & Pony Up remix switch up + her new outro vocals.

it's not a bad thing that the performance leaves you wanting more of the music. I cannot stop listening to LEVII'S JEANS and RIIVERDANCE since the performance, even though neither were among my favorites when the album dropped.

There's nothing Beyonce will do that will please everyone. If she had performed 3 or 2 songs in full, it would have been why so so and so song wasn't performed, even some are still complaining she didn't perform their favorite songs. Let's just appreciate this woman's art and the way she present it to us.

I get what you're saying though.

I don't want to sound like it's a complain. I made sure to start with how epic the performance was. And my comment isn't even on what is the right approach for her.

Just what I miss. I still fully appreciate this woman for what she gives us! And that halftime was a reminder as to why she's the best.

The heart just wants what it wants. I will u earn for a full Ya Ya televised performance that is Stevie Wonder tribute meets Tina Turner tribute meets IIWAB at the grammys. Phewww

Am I the only one who lowkey finds it scary how many people actually want to take away Beyonces talent?

I dont care if people say they dont like her or her music, if they find her arrogant, off-putting etc, but to go as far as saying shes barely talented is CRAZY to me.

How can you watch her output (Beychella, Stevie, Beyonce Bowl, VMA performances, Renaissance album, Lemonade film, etc) and not only say shes untalented, but make it your Mission to convince others of that. People are out there trying to take away decades of hard work of a person for no reason but "I dont like her".

Its insane to me.

And the scary part is: I feel like that number is increasing.

It's just bigotry, jealousy and racist delusion.  It seems to make people not think clearly about things.

Beyoncé is literally like that pretty, popular girl in school that bitter ******* loved to hate on. She brings out deep-rooted insecurities in ppl so they will do anything in their power (including blatantly lie on her) to try and knock her down a few pegs. It will always say more about them than it ever will about her ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This, but it's to a scary degree that not even I feel Michael faced. Yeah he def did get some of the most hate out of many celebs, but that man was universally loved in such a way that they were building statues of him. Beyoncé is as universally loved as she is universally hated for just simply being TOO good. Not only is she "TOO good", the girl can compete with and exceeds artists in the 70s/80s/90s/ and 2000s. She's not just "exceptionally good" for her generation. She's objectively one of the most talented artists that's EVER hit the music industry. :deadbanana2:

Like I fear if someone like Bey debuted in the 80s/early 90s she'd still have the girls pressed lmaooo!

I don't understand how people can develop such a DESIRE to humble someone who that they don't even know and who has only done everything to uplift so many voices. Like the pure joy you get from watching her perform is INSANE. And people continuously rob themselves of that because their dislike of her. And it has nothing to do with her talent but with some stupid sh*t like "she thinks she's better than everyone" or "the Illuminati". Like girl be SO forreal right now! :deadbanana2:

Whatever is coming on the 14th, she has everyone watching.

I wonder if we'll get another piece between now and then, I kind of expect another tease that gives slightly more indication.

I don't think it's a documentary, those take her FOREVER to do and edit, whatever it is, it's ready to go.

The "poppin in out my phone" part in levii's jean on the original stream

It's just the little tings that makes a performance really pop

Beyonce is indeed peerless. The more I watch the Beyonce Bowl, the better I like it. It's easily one of her best medleys. The only critique one could have is that it doesn't have the novelty of the Lemonade or ST medleys in the sense that back then, we didn't know what a Beyonce medley could look and feel like. Other than that, in terms of execution the Beyonce Bowl is pretty much flawless. I deduct a point because I find Jolene to be utterly unnecessary and skippable. I honestly would've preferred Bodyguard for that segment and it would've worked better due to the "shotgun" line.

Bettyblacktour.com and blackbettytour.com both redirect to Beyoncé.com

And the Betty Black tour image on the cover of Delresto has the number 14 on it.

Could be a coincidence...
