i don't know if the performer gets to choose the songs or if they have to do covers… i want a medley so bad but i also don't see her perform cc songs at the olympics in paris idk, maybe texas or cuff it…

and i thought the narration was better than usual (despite it giving AI bot :rip:) which isn't saying much nnn

basically someone who works at the french ministry said her name was in consideration for the closing ceremony, he only alluded to a female artist in her "cowboy hat era"

Doesn't the next host city (LA) usually have a portion of the closing ceremony?

Lemonade is an absolute masterpiece. I think sometimes people forget how Insanely well-thought out that album is.

Extremely well-thought, yes, but at the same time I feel no passion whatsoever on it.

It's 4's antithesis in that sense.

Well, it's the least "Beyoncé" album off her discography. While no one else could have EVER replicated a Crazy In Love or a Run The World (as well as many more songs), the same can't be said about that album. In other words, it lacks personality and uniqueness.

It doesn't help that it was recorded during one of the most painful periods of Bey's personal life. Hence some songs sound like demos (Freedom), while others are among her worst studio vocal performances (Sandcastles), others are just garbage (Sorry and Hold Up).

Moreover, not only was Bey's input sort of minimal, the album is also uninteresting when it comes to vocals (both things are interconnected).

Is it boring? Maybe? Again, I don't feel the "Beyoncéness" on it. On the other hand, I find CC to be extraordinary and I do play it on a daily basis, so...

Anyhow, I love the massage behind Formation and Freedom. I don't "hate" Lemonade, I just never happen to listen to it.

I can see her reviving Freedom (this song was rehearsed for the RWT) and Daddy Lessons. Perhaps even DHY, yes.

That cover was a cover of a cover

I was just thinking about how Homecoming cannibalizes Lemonade's streams (for me) because it's superior in some ways to the originals

For some reason I don't think this would happen to Renaissance because the studio version is excellent, the live version would just be a cherry on top

Also Beyoncé is a puta for not putting Lay Up Under God on Spotify, **** ha

Even though it's not credited as a cover, but her doing a few lines from "Long Time Gone" in "DADDY LESSONS (Remix)" is astronomically genius to me!

"BACK TO BLACK" with Andre 3000 was an artist direction that they were criticized for. To me, it's only because it was doing 'Beyoncé is a flop' era before the visual album, but it's a direction that works for me. To me, it was still a great way to honor the artist, while adding authentic touches to make the song interesting to the vocalist covering.

I guess you can count "Family Feud" incorporating The Clark Sisters

"Ha-ya" as a cover to a certain extent. Not only was it an amazing vocal performance, exquisite example of vocal layering and vocal production, mixing vocals using modern day technology with the limited technology from 1979-1980, though still produced very crisp and clean, it's actually very comical. Knowing the history between The Clark Sisters and their sister who left the group and pops up every so often to tarnish their name, coupled with the ever lasting video footage of Solange beating Jay's ass while Bey watches and them laughing at the cheating rumors, while it was tearing them up off stage, "Family Feud" is actually legendary in many ways 🤣

For an honorable mention, I have to show love to her live covers of "Sweet Love",  the entirety of the Stevie Wonder 'All Star Tribute' and the most amazing live cover she's gave, "Sex On Fire".
