This. Literally I’m saying I’m sure her decision was made a year or two in advance. Believe it or not her and Bey truly do share a lot of the same work ethic when it comes to releases and their passion for music lmao.

Eh, yes to that. But even then they weren’t banking on getting it anytime soon due to all the other re-recordings. They were actually expecting a break.

 

I truthfully feel that regardless of who releases, we all know they will not make the impact or even make near the cultural relevancy Bey makes at all. So imo it doesn’t really matter who releases, Bey will always have her own light tbh.

I just meant the timing of the announcement, a seemingly thrown together mention at the Grammys a week before act II

Heh she has been releasing a new album consistently every year or so since Reputation, and twice a year since Folklore

In this industry eyes are always on Bey, even behind the scenes. I believe there are some A&R reps who know when Bey is about to release or about to do something big so they leak to other teams. Taylor's team then run ahead to do stuff before. I had that vibe with her AMC deal, she probably knew Bey's deal was coming so her team contacted AMC too. Now this album announcement at the Grammys, they knew Bey was coming. So far i think it's friendly competition though, it's not that big of deal, Bey comes from a time big artists were all releasing at the same time. Now you add Kanye and that's where it could get weird quick.  He also has a cult following but they are not always harmless.  Knowing Bey though, i think she has something up her sleeves. Bey's team must always know thing. The potential for things to get messy is there. This summer is about to get real interesting.

I like JLO actually but yeah this film thing is ofc Bey inspired.

Bey made visual albums a thing, an actual movie is the natural progression.

Best believe nobody but OBHs will pretend Bey stole that idea.

I really don’t think Taylor is trying to spite bey lol. She’s just capitalising on her hype with new material. She’s gonna be on tour for a while why waste the gp’s dedication to you on old material when they’ll stream that anyway when it does come out

 

i do think drake is a bit shifty with his releases sometimes when it comes to bey lol. Renaissance + honestly nevermind is the most obvious example but I don’t think it’s anything malicious he’s just messy. Plus he drops material every year sometimes twice a year in a similar vein to Taylor so again does not really matter in the grand scheme of things

 

at the end of the day some years are massive for big names in music some aren’t regardless of what bey does

very sweet of u to give her a charity view. 

Bey has had this planned for a while, some artists I do give the side eye, others were genuinely going to release around the same time.
 

But in general everybody is releasing now and getting things going before late Summer, it’s election year and the presidential election is going to be taking away all the media coverage. 

I’m curious if she has any other plans for the song anytime soon.

Knowing Bey will also experiment with the country sound on this album, i cant wait to see what she does with some tracks. I'm sure there will be a country/HipHop mashup. That's why her releases excite so much, because people know she is wild musically and we dont know what to truly expect. 

Honestly I don’t think Bey/Parkwood will do anything to capitalize on this momentum. They will probably just watch to see how far it will go. 
 

Even though I personally believe a SNL performance or tiny desk moment with fans would just bring the songs to the next level. 

I don’t think a performance will really do all that much to the song. 
 

I know Stan’s are bored and want full blown ERAS now, but the way to get hits in the streaming era is really tik tok and the song being catchy. 
 

If there was anywhere I wanted her to perform, it woulda been the Grammys. Everything else is just bored Stan’s begging (although SNL would be cool)

Her performances always go viral though, and I’m sure it would go viral on TikTok
