And still no prediction by HDD in the USA???

Don't quote me, but I think HDD projections are done for good.

Their data provider was Alpha Data, and Alpha Data has just shut down since they were bought by MRC/Billboard. Their site now redirects to MRC's https://alphadata.fm/

HDD was KNOWN to drag MRC/Billboard so I doubt MRC will be here for providing HDD data...

Honestly still serving numbers people like Taylor and Beyonce struggled to achieve in their peak but yes... A decline from his previous mega sales

Hmm UK is Ed Sheerans home country. Just like Taylor and Beyonce have bigger debuts than him in their home country.

Yeah.. no, she’ll definitely do more than this :rip:

Clearly they know that nn. Will Adele manage to pull 500k+?

OT: These are not cute numbers for his standard tbh. No one expected him to do 670k but not even 200k? :gaycat6:

so the biggest sales week of the year

a success :clap3:

I would say around the 300k to more range

Wait, what? This is case for an FBI

That seems too conservative. If Coldplay, ABBA and Ed are doing 100k+ then sure Adele will pull at least 4x that

Billboard is truly a bully. They want to be the sole sales data provider.

Honestly I have visited Rollingstones and AlphaData websites more than I have ever visited Billboard.:noparty:

I’m just predicting without my stan glasses, but I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if she did 500k

Yup! Rolling Stone and Billboard parent companies merged last year, and decided there was no need for RS Charts anymore (as they're direct competitors).

The magazine is shuttering Rolling Stone Charts, its competitor to Billboard, which is owned by the same parent company.

It's f*cked up, but business I guess :rip:

So far the biggest debut of 2021 at the Uk is Coldplay with 101k

Ed Will deaf do more arround 110-130k

The Collabs project did 125k

He is doing fine! The album will be automatically Gold / almost Top 10 best selling album of the year

Coldplay are (legendary) old hags, his album doing similar numbers with two #1 smashes is not a good sign at all, even the most pessimistic predictions would give give him +200k :rip:

Adele is closing up the gap, wouldn't mind if Ed gets for rooting for EOM :duca:

This is an undperformance considering how successful the singles have been and Divide did 5 times more than this will do first week.

Adele should easily double this.

Doubt it.

Sales have declined a lot. She’ll probably do like 350-450k  which is still fantastic.

In the United Kingdom, 25 debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and sold 800,307 copies in its first chart week

Yes but streaming is not enough to make up the decline in sales.

But all or most of the units numbers were actual sales

Quote

In the United Kingdom, 25 debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and sold 800,307 copies in its first chart week, overtaking Oasis' Be Here Now (1997) to become the fastest-selling album of all time in the UK.[146] Of that total, 252,423 copies were digital downloads, breaking the record for most digital copies sold in a week, and 548,000 were physical copies.

And the decline has been huge for streaming to make up the gap.

not trying to set her up but i still think she can get close to 600k. even if sales have gone down it's still ADELE

Taylor and Beyonce are constantly criticized for being local to the US so Ed should not be looking to them for a standard in his home country.  Even at his peak Ed could not match either in their home country either.

underwhelming for him but it will still be the biggest first week of the year, until Adele. not a loss.

Uhm what was ed talking about when he said 600k pre-orders? Surely most of those must be UK? What's happening here?

The 15 weeks at #1 are impressive but these numbers don’t reflect that. I know sales have basically flatlined since 2017 but = is pacing to sell less than 20% of divide’s first week. That’s not good. People dragged me on here for saying that No. 6 underperformed but it’s quite clear Ed lost his commercial grip on the UK.

Methinks a flop for his (incredible) standards.

Maybe she will, I think 350k-400k is safe to her, if she does anywhere close to 600k like you say :deadbanana:
