NEW RELEASES: BILLIE'S BACK

Darkroom/Interscope's Billie Eilish will see her sophomore release, Happier Than Ever, land atop the HITS Top 50 next Friday. The album is projecting today in the 200-225k range. Her previous release, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, opened with 313k in April 2019. Of that total, nearly a third came from now disallowed ticket and D2C bundles.

Happier's physical sales will make up about 50% of the first week total thanks, in large part, to vinyl sales. Multiple major retailers have versions of the vinyl in exclusive colors such as sage green, pale yellow and opaque sienna. Happier’s pre-street ATD is just over 400k.

 

Billie Eilish (Darkroom/Interscope) 200-225k total activity, 130-140k albums
Prince (Legacy) 45-50k, 43-47k

"Happier than ever" also happens to be the name of the latest strain we're indulging.

let's be real, the streaming numbers were not reasonably expected, she's much bigger than only 2 songs with over 1m in the US Spotify.

Anyways, it's still a big number and pure sales absolutely came through

Great debut, she's a true albums seller She's going to have a long, prosperous career!

Very underwhelming numbers for her after such a huge era.

Well it was fun while it lasted

 

Just like everything else in this era but the acclaim: could've been better.

So she's basically doing the same numbers as her last album without bundles. That's a great total for pure sales that indicates she has a strong fanbase.

 

The streaming number could be higher but that's what happens when the catchiest songs were all released pre-album.

 

All in all not a catastrophe, this album will have serious legs.

Surprised about the lower numbers for a second album after such a big era. But pop can be fickle.
