None of these numbers are true? Where did you take this from? Scorpion debuted with 70k units. Both Reputation (81k) and Shania's Now (73k) outdebuted it in Canada. Jesus, even Drake's own Views outdebuted it with 110k. And all of these albums are from 2016 on so exactly the tracking period being mentioned in the quote. Also Reputation sold more pure (80k) than Beautiful Trauma which sold 64k units total first week.

These numbers are great. Adele doesn't have a big fanbase that will check the album the minute it comes out, so of course debuts will be lower than expected. However, the GP will check it out through the week, and I'm pretty sure this will remain very stable, especially considering OMG sounds like a smash and debuted with 7M, so she is on her way to have 2 smashes carrying the album.

Both did amazing, I'm sure SOUR will snatch a couple more weeks at #1 with the stability its been showing, I dont see it doing less than 100k+ for a while. But on a side note, this is why I really don't like the rule change of only counting copies once shipped, even if I understand the reasoning.
