Following their most successful U.S. single ever, "Dynamite," BTS have shattered every expectation put in front of them. They're the world's most popular group. In February this year, Map of the Soul : 7 landed a massive debut of 422k, a number that ranks fourth for the year, only trailing bows from Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Juice WRLD. So what should we expect from their new effort, BE (Big Hit/Columbia)?

So we'll start the forecast for BE at 300k, the same starting point as MOTS7, which shattered expectations. The ATD for the album will approach 500k counting the total activity from "Dynamite." Will BE get to 400k in the first week? Is 450k a possibility? We'll let the Army answer that question.

$48? for an 8-track album? is that album made of gold or something? omg :deadbanana2:

$48?

splitting the profits 5 ways after everyone else gets their cut must be tough for them :bibliahh:

I was told no one was able to sell well after bundles rules changed tho.

Their fans are aiming for a 700k debut in the US. Let's see how that goes.

48$ is cheap

I spent 60€ for it here in Europe  :skull: Worth it tho

Anyway I’ve a full time job who cares what fans spend their money on:zzz:

Their label is probably saving the standard edition for the holiday season as well

It’s going to affect them pretty deeply since all their fans know how to do is stream and vote :deadbanana4: Or maybe they can get their parents to swipe their credit cards?

I think it will sell more, their fans are very rabid (Don't mean that in a bad way)

If army wasn’t willing to spend money then who buys the concert tickets or the albums in the past? You seem pretty clueless about BTS’ demographics cause yes they have a lot of teenage fans who 48$ is too expensive for but they also have a huge 20-30 yr old fanbase with jobs and money to spend

You know what I change my mind I’m pretty sure BTS fans can afford the album since those teenage fans are privileged enough to have enough money to go to these concerts like you say.

$48 / $16 = 3

846,000 / 3 = 282,000 units

HDD prediction 300k

Well the math works out

both are incredibly expensive for like an 8 track album :deadbanana: is it at least coming with some extras or?

48$ for an album? :deadbanana4: The way how they already manipulated the charts to get a fake success and now they want to scam their fans out of money :toofunny3: This is just disgusting and wrong on so many levels.

It comes with a photo book, a "making" book, a lyric poster, 8 photo cards, a Polaroid photo card, a photo frame, 7 postcards, and a poster, on top of the CD itself and the box. It's $46 at some retailers. Whether that's enough additional material to justify the price is up to the fans, I guess, but personally I think it's a bit high, but if we look at releases like Taylor's Reputation and Lover, we can see that it does have ostensibly more content than those albums' special editions.

Personally, I wouldn't buy it, but I'm not a fan. I think I'd shell out this much for the same content from an artist I really loved.
