I do love some Gaga's drag party here but these are really cute numbers, especiallycoming from a tragic flop lead single and basically no promo. Sine from Above's impact

Sis....read the damn room.   Nobody is talking about anything outside of the civil unrest in the country right now, and rightfully so.  Gaga literally shut down her online shop and has not posted about her album since the first day it was out, so she could focus on what's actually happening right no.  And on top of all of that, we are in a pandemic.  If you can't see that those are valid reasons, I really don't know what to tell you.

I'm actually surprised that some of you are actually making light of the current turmoil. People are clearly focusing on the protest, as they're supposed to. Gaga has stopped all the promo and instead uses her platform to talk about the movement, as she's supposed to. Not many people are aware about the album because we have more important things to talk about during this crisis. Chromatica's number is actually great all things considered, and this is coming from a non-Gaga stan.

 

To think that some people have this idea that Chromatica's promo is more talked about than BLM and the pandemic in the US is just beyond my logic. Don't be too obsessed with stan culture. Read more news.

For those aren't sure what "promo sensitive" means – her last studio album, which was also in the streaming era, was first predicted by HDD to do 150K - 160K. After a week of strong promo, they're final predictions were raised to 180K - 190K, and the album pulled 201K in the end. That's a 51K increase from the lowest initial prediction, and she's in a better career state now than she was then. I didn't expect it to do this well given everything going on (even with just the pandemic alone), but seeing how high it's projected to do in this state, I can only imagine it might do 350K - 400K under normal circumstances coupled with the traditional promo I'm sure she would do. Saying we're using a "pandemic excuse" or a "riot excuse" – as if it's even pulling bad numbers as is – to try to drag liddos is laughable because they are legitimate excuses, especially when she can't do the traditional promo that's been shown to boost her numbers more than most other girls in the streaming era.

 

The whole "promo sensitive" thing is the same reason Million Reasons shot up after the Super Bowl, Shallow shot up after the Oscars, and both continue to shoot up on iTunes basically every time they're used for anything on television.  It's a legit thing that's not just related to Gaga – I remember Lizzo being another artist with a similar effect last summer/fall. I know all promo is supposed to boost songs, but "promo sensitive" relates more to artists in the streaming era that still see significant boosts from traditional promo like TV performances, since they don't have nearly the same effect for most artists that they used to.

 

I’d be mad if my fave’s 3 consecutive projects flopped one after the other despite no pandemic or civil unrest that leads to closing your shop and retailers and no promo involved. 
 

Guys the OGH are right. It’s the age of the INTERNET And therefore being Top 2 and #2 is how it should be. Had more promo been involved maybe the lyric “Top 2 and I ain’t #2” could been true. 
 

The mind games haters are going through lmao.

Gaga has stopped all promo and people are talking about other important things (rightfully) so for anyone to try and drag these numbers is beyond distasteful and pathetic.  

80m streaming is kinda low.

most was refer to her sps being driven by streaming, not the single downloads.

 

for pure album sales, it says "sturdy" to non bundle sales, and "hauling" to bundle.

we won't get exact number of bundle sales, but it sure will add  80k~100k or even more.

I meant the "ALBUM SALES". Most of her album sales are from the retailers as mentioned probably ~120k.. maybe ~40k Tour Bundles and ~40k Merch Bundles

What flops? EIL won a Grammy , 240 million grossing tour, and was released under “carters”. Fav got paid 20 million for Lion King (one of highest grossing animated film) and Homecoming was acclaimed. Those were passion projects. She’d never do 275k with a real album. :(

My favs solo albums have never done under 300k PURE SALES... when one of her solo albums does less then that we can have a conversation. Mind you when my fav was 11 years in her career (like Gaga is now) she was doing 500k First week  and  #1 for 11 weeks (irreplaceable with no feature) . No signs of declining

those posts coming from a particular fanbase are really concerning tbh, worry about something else that is bigger than any other stan wars right now. gaga flopping or exceeding expectations wont have a impact on your life but what happening out there will be talked for generations and written in history books.

just admit your fav can’t keep up with the times. My fav survived the physical era, digital era, and now is one of the top steaming artists. Look at my favs streams/followers on Spotify vs yours. This is a 22 career vs 11. My fav snagged a #1 while being an unbothered philanthropist. Didn’t need to rely on a teeny bopper for a quick lil hit.

Yet here you are in a thread about sales. Let’s keep the conversation on what’s relevant. If these “times were so important” then Gaga should’ve done like Bey and used her platform solely for raising awareness and not to promote music

I can find you plenty of videos of her promoting. and she was promoting well after George Floyd died. She stopped promoting mid week (well after people were already protesting). It's almost like she just jumped on the BLM bandwagon

I don't have to worry about my fav. whether her post was scripted or not she NEVER used her platform to promote her own work during these TERRIBLE TIMES. that would be selfish and disgusting.
