Billboard can piss off. Why wasn't this in place last year with all the desperate remixes and cheats that went down with OTR? 

 

At least artists will stop trying to appease to Tik Tok now, thank god. Poor Bieber.

Yeah. OTR wont reach superrecurrency now! But @bad guy I bet OTR laid the foundation for BBs re-writing of the YT rules. Truth is, with so many OTR actual official videos out there on YT, I'm surprised it took such such a hit.

RIAA have their own rules so aren't affected by Billboard changes.

 

But if Billboard are not counting (or down weighting) non official videos, then Google/YouTube need to make sure the official videos come up first in searches.

A quick question – were videos from TikTok actually counting or just the compilation videos posted to YouTube?

 

It's funny that we saw just this past week before the rule was even implemented a way to get around it – artists uploading these compilations to their own channel, as Bieber did. Assuming they make sure the song is the central part of each video, that would completely circumvent this new rule.

Well...about ****ing time! Where was this when OTR was sitting for months on top last year thanks to those streams?

 

The Box is smashing on all streaming platforms but this rule will obviously hurt its chances of becoming another +10 weeks #1 imo.

Why are you all mentioning Tiktok here? The only thing affected here are those Tiktok video compilations in YT, which is not much really. Tik Tok still have huge influence in other streaming platforms like Spotify and AM. Admit it or not, Tiktok plays a huge role in  today's charts. 

 

Another Tik tok hit coming: This HSM song, ALL I Want. It's been out for months already. It did not do well in charts until it became viral in Tiktok. Right now it's at #62 in AM and #54 in Spotify.
