Ugh finally. Tik Tok is a disgrace to the internet and the music world.

They should’ve done this way earlier so ME! & YNTCD would’ve gotten that #1, but nevertheless a good change :clap3:

Not y'all acting like TikTok compilations were causing some sort of chart disturbance :skull:

The sudden chart drops of certain songs say otherwise

Do you guys know exactly how Billboard can know whether a song upload on YouTube is "official" or "unofficial?"

Does the actual artist have to upload the song a certain way?

I didn't think Billboard counted anything other than official channels only :deadbanana2: Billboard is a mess. I'm glad Rolling Stone is giving them some competition now.

YouTube has made official artist channels. you can see if it's an official channel if it has a musical note next to it… for example:

there's also Topic channels:

Poor The Box being killed before it even started :skull: I mean, I’m sure it’ll still be #1, but these SoundCloud rap songs flourish off unofficial YouTube streams (see: OTR)

Yeah but The Box is an absolute monster on ODS as well. I don't think it's gonna die anytime soon.

? He's fine. He's #1 on every streaming platform

ONLY official videos from the artist's channel should count... but ideally, YouTube shouldn't count at all like in the rest of the world.

Nas Maraj wouldn't have broken Mimi's record if Billboard had this rule last year :dies:

OTR was top 15 last week and this week it fell to #46  :skull:

Sure it would have been #1 but not for 19 weeks  :toofunny2:

And they shouldn't. It's already ridiculous RIAA /150's YouTube streams when they're much, much less profitable than other services :dies:

Yeah, I’m sure it won’t die. But this will definitely hurt it and prevent it from blowing up to the level of OTR did in the US, I think.
