Alternative is her demographic though. It was still a single. And it’s a fact she has tour bundles, which definitely made a difference considering she’s on a successful arena tour. Xanny has a video coming but it doesn’t matter anyway because it’s not even included in the 7 I listed. I don’t get why you’re getting so defensive. No one is discrediting Billie. Obviously the album is smashing in its own right.

It was her first tour ever + she was touring small arenas, the tour bundles didn't play a significant part in the sales and that's why Billboard didn't even bother specifying it

Billie had one single and a half since the release of the album: bad guy + atgggth (which is not even played by the radios + it won't boost the album sales considering the sound of the song and the fact we're in the streaming era, post-album release).

 

The fact you all want to brag about Ariana only having "3 singles!!!!!!!!!" while she released three pop/trendy singles and that you want to compare her situation to a newbie releasing... alternative singles like it has the same impact and popularity (radios don't even support Billie), the desperation

Well those were the weeks that gave the album the most points and would've made it the album with more weeks at #1 in the top 3 so maybe it could've charted higher, idk.

Wow at this unhinged rant.  Wikipedia says WYWG was a single so my bad if it’s not, her tour is doing extremely well so the bundles definitely played a part especially in the first week sales, and it’s not like Bad Guy and ATGGGTH aren’t extremely pop friendly singles too. Again, alternative is Billie’s niche and I don’t get why you want to act like pop girls with pop friendly singles are traditionally huge albums artists anyway. All I said was it was impressive for Ariana to be #2 and close to #1 with so few singles and no promo since the album release at the beginning of the year. Billie is my second most played artist of the year, so I wasn’t looking to nor do I care to have this petty stan fight.

As if bad guy, a pop single with massive radio support, doesn't exist. The point was the gap isn't that big and Ariana could've been #1 if she made different moves (released 7R at album release, tour bundles, done literally anything to promote throughout the year, another single, etc.). But she didn't and she's #2. No one's complaining about it or "desperate", just pointing out a different possibility. Not sure why that has you so bothered

So I guess Imagine was a single then?  

And no they didn't and as I said, that's why Billboard didn't specify the numbers from the bundle like they did for Céline, it was at the beginning of the tour and before the album release and BG which made her explode. 

 

Alternative is Billie's niche and so...? Artists smashing on alternative radio move album units?  Not even sure what kind of audiences you need to hit #1 there. Are you really comparing the impact of a single played by alternative radios to a single played by multiple formats including the biggest and most relevant one?

You are all crying about "Ariana only having 3 singles!!!!!!!!!!  " when BB doesn't even count pre-release SEA/TEA in their numbers: Ariana had buwyg, ib, while Billie had Bad Guy and... atgggth (it peaked with 33M al). So you need to cut this bs, especially when Ariana was already an etablished superstar and that she was spammed by radios when her era started and when her album dropped. This is NOT Billie's case so I'd rather be in Ariana's situation than Billie's.

And that's exactly the reason BG felt like her lead single to everyone...?

 

BG had 11M Al a month after its release, 40M Al 2 months after its release. Radios were forced to play it because she was smashing so no, Billie isn't particularly supported by them.
