I can't believe we still have over 5 weeks until the album I'm begging for new teasers, but at the same time, her giving us nothing is making me even more curious about the album

Ever since people were throwing out "dreampop" descriptions, I've kind of been expecting a The Sundays / Mazzy Star sound on the album. Like it's possible HTIMYLM is the most radio ready song of the bunch. But then it's also possible Max and Ilya produced the whole thing, so would they go for that far of a departure from ES? It's hard to say because I think ES album tracks being somewhere between TUN and DW sonically was a very intentional return to form for Ariana during a period where she was more focused on acting, not expecting to put out an album, and getting a lot of hate for having changed. And now she might be ready to go an entirely different direction, but that would require pushing not just herself outside her comfort zone but the people she works with.

She should release another song early July to sustain interest. The wait is just way too long until album release. All she has is the tour.

Oh trust, they'll complain the minute they don't hear something super upbeat and instant. There is a loud, annoying subset of her fans that have refused to evolve with her If she simply tried to remake Dangerous Woman again and again, the same people would complain that the new songs don't compare to the originals, that all her songs sound the same, and that she never changes up her formula. And then there are the people expecting her to go back to TUN bad ***** looks and trap pop despite the fact she's about to be 33 now, like of course a lot has changed in 7 years. The TUN album was literally closer to the release of The Way than it is to today, to put that in perspective. I'm reminded of how many people were disappointed when off the table didn't sound like LMH. When it's like, LMH is a perfect pop song and duh they were never going to be able to recapture that magic. She was right to do a 180 with the next Abel collab, and now I appreciate both songs as some of her best. This album is shaping up to be exactly what I want from her. Truly great artists who last take big swings outside their comfort zones. Even if she ends up disappointing people - or even myself - I'll appreciate the fact that she tried to experiment. You really never know what you're going to get from her, and that's what keeps stanning her exciting. Her last few singles from 34+35 to pov to yes, and? to wcbf to htimylm have been completely different.

I mean, forget Olivia, it's probably gonna fall below Billie Jean and Beauty and a Beat Hopefully it can stay above 3M until album release

Waittt someone pointed out that the track list could be giving picking petals off a flower like "he loves me, he loves me not" going back and forth between love songs and sad songs

I feel like this album is gonna sound so pretty. That coupled with vocal highlights and her most introspective songwriting.

TUN is such an overrated album. It came together in only a few months and it shows. It has just a few tracks I frequently revisit, and buwygib is her worst single. Meanwhile, Positions is just HIT after HIT. The way I still use nearly every track, including the deluxe. The only ones I never got into were shut up and six thirty but 6 years later six thirty has finally clicked Whatchu gonna do when I'm bored and I wanna play video games at 2 am

Also I will never get over Into You becoming Ariana's biggest recurrent hit People are always like "I wish Ariana still made upbeat bangers like Into You" but where were you all in 2016? Oh yeah probably too busy streaming Cheap Thrills, Drake, Rihanna, and Chainsmokers while Ariana was in the trenches with Meghan Trainor and the song was failing to hit top 10 in any market People literally called it dated on arrival like it should have been released in 2012 and now it's hailed as her benchmark for a timeless pop song.

Doesn't she have 10 shows in London too? Yeah there's no way she won't have surprises planned for at least a few of them

Why did I think YA was like out of the top 20 at this point? We're lucky it didn't kill the hype for ES. I maintain that it was a mediocre way to announce her return after 3-4 years but it does go off live as the show opener.
