The only reason these people are doubting callout is because Dua Lipa is dead last. If she was smashing on callouts, all of a sudden they would be extremely important. Call outs have always been reliable and it makes sense that the songs with the best callouts do the best in the long term because that's what the radio listeners wants. The Radio Listeners audience and the streaming audience are for the most part, very different.

I'm not saying callouts should be entirely ignored, but they shouldn't be (and in reality they REALLY aren't) the only thing radio programmers look at.

it's not my fault you can't read..

Thanks dear, and your family is just an example on why measuring popularity should depend on the three components, and not one of them (radio). Radio isn't complementary and  necessarily dependent on the other two.

Exactly my point.

But people love to debate this every couple months depending on the artist.

Literally a month or two ago Kings & Queens was smashing pop and the top of callouts and everyone was calling it payola because of its streams/sales, now it’s the reverse with Levitating and all of a sudden callouts mean something again. Let the pop girls survive.

I have no idea why this site always argue about Sam’s radio appeal, DWAS is still charting in overall radio and HDYS? was also an hit, not to mention their previous singles

Sam is an radio stable at this point

If any of the pop girls peaked at #11 on Pop and had poor sales/streaming numbers it would not be considered a hit though.

Girl her last two Pop radio singles went #1

So this weekend I was listening to Year End Countdowns on the 3 Top 40 radio stations in Toronto, Canada. Interesting results for Rain On Me:

Z103.5 - #13

Kiss 92.5 - #8

99.9 Virgin Radio - #7 (no countdown but it was their 7th most played song of 2020)
