Can someone please explain to me how CTTR got a good AI today with only a +10 spin increase while other days she's gotten a higher spin increase with a lower AI? What does this mean?

Airplay is a rolling chart. So the spins from 8 days ago dropped out and the spins from yesterday got added. Yesterday there were 10 spins more than 8 days ago and a lot more audience. So some bigger stations played it or it was played at times that have more listeners. 

If that ratio changes from day to day then it's just random noise and doesn't really mean anything.

Streaming has to be hurting it with how many people just put on Pandora or Spotify in the car now

 

It's been going downhill since 2013 so who knows

I've started listening to Pandora, mostly the Hard Rock station.

I don't know. I'm surprised we haven't seen bigger signs of it happening already. People can replace radio with Spotify playlists (more catered to what they want than any radio station), etc. quite easily to be truthful.

Radio is still a way many people are exposed to new music

True. Infact, I think it's still the primary way people hear new music. Not for us on ATRL obviously, as we often hears songs as soon as (or before) they're released, but for normal people.

Radio isn't helping itself by excessively playing a few big hits while ignoring songs that would receive attention if the genre's top tracks were limited to around 84 spins a week. SOY is getting just an average of well over 100 spins a week at Top 40 stations. Some stations might even be playing SOY close to 168/week, which is hourly. If you want to learn about and hear new music, radio isn't the best place to turn. Pandora is probably the best options for finding new songs.

How you guys think Harry's 6 minute rock-ballad will do on radio?

Audience #s have been steady since 2013, and the # of people saying they discover music through radio increased between 2014 and 2015. Radio is definitely not waning in influence anytime soon

Guess i'll have to listen to the song first. The radio edit will probably be 4 minutes with some extra instruments tho.
