well, his first album was the same length and most his songs are super short. i think bad reception hurt its chances to do 200/300k+ (which a proper followup to ? would have done) and his fanbase didn't necessarily grow all that much in between albums - just a lot of people paid attention for that short few weeks after he died. Globally, on the other hand, he's grown way bigger since dying. In America I really don't think much has changed fanbase wise
