I hope Charlie tops overall radio  

I can't believe That's What I Like, Shape of You, It Ain't Me, and Something Like This are still in the top 20 for airplay. It's impressive but slightly annoying.

Did it really lose that much audience from other formats? Anyone got the updates from Rhythmic, HAC or AC? Radio is doing this song so bad.

Because it's impossible to be pushed by just Airplay and get Top 10.

What's up with callout scores? Like, I've seen people saying they're super important, but I've also seen songs getting good scores and radio barely touching them, or songs getting bad placements on the chart, yet radio was still pushing them.

Unlikely that the radio push continues much longer tbh

It's a radio candy, fits perfect on radio, and it's not the type of song which is a good seller.

Marian Hill's Down got fantastic callouts if I remember. Pretty sure Million Reasons had really good callouts as well. And those songs obviously did well enough but certainly weren't smashes.

 

I've always felt like felt like callouts are a load of bull. There's certainly enough songs that started low that radio continued to push.

Hmmm I havent seen its callout scores. Probably mediocre to terrible. Callout scores are influential though. Evident to songs such as No, Malibu, Bad Liar, Me Too, CTTR which had poor reception, Focus too.

 

Pillowtalk & Me Myself and I started with poor callouts but improved

MR was mediocre.  Lower half iirc but not certainly last place

 

 

Down debuted #1 on callouts but didnt maintain

Million Reasons had really bad call-out scores.

Yeah, but certain songs are given weeks of mediocre callouts before improving and then others are just completely dropped after just a week or two. I haven't been following them close enough lately but I know there are songs that were almost instantly dropped right as their scores started to rise.

 

And then there are songs like Pillowtalk, which had pretty awful callouts for a while if I remember correctly. But they continued to push it for weeks before its ratings improved.

That radio callouts theory is bull****. Radios play whatever the **** they want. No rules apply except for $

Yeah why would radio, a format that needs listeners, play what listeners want to hear. Obviously an insane and wrong theory that makes no sense.
