Shawn Mendes - There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back

Can't believe he's gonna block Lana obsessively. Already on 50% after 2 hours in the middle of the night... And she's at 75% gaining hard but of course he will get there first.

I'd say 2012-2013 may have been the biggest. Here's a link to the 2012 number one digital singles and their sales each week. If you scroll to the bottom you can see every year since digital sales started counting by Billboard.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_number-one_digital_songs_of_2012_(U.S.)

And if you're using mobile I like to scroll to the bottom to desktop mode on wiki. I find it easier to navigate in.

How long do his songs stay at #1?

Treat You Better was #1 for just some hours because it was released during CSTF! reign

TWIL has a 18% lead on SOY now. Not enough I think :dancehal:

Kendrick and Harry should lose the Hot Tracks exposure tonight. Let's see how much they fall

Shawn is gonna fall off soon enough anyway :fan:

Lana better keep climbing!

So the tracking week started with Something Just Like This at #1, then HUMBLE., That's What I Like, The Cure, Stay and now There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back. Can somebody remember a week were so many songs held #1 in iTunes?

6 songs went #1 on iTunes this tracking week? ;)

I think it used to be the most streamed song on Spotify at the time :jonny2:

Thats why the iTunes chart is way cooler than the Spotify chart :clap3:

That's because the iTunes chart is the definition of instant gratification.

Spotify is just like radio - it's based on listens.

How come Shawn Mendes shot to the top? Music video or did he just add it to his Illuminate album?

new single from illuminate re release. He has a huge fan base so that's not really surprising.

In 2012 the average #1 sold 295k, in 2013 the average #1 sold 309K.

By comparison, the average #1 has sold 129K in 2017 so far.

When you adjust for the 2012 climate, the weekly 2017 #1 sellers come to be...

Starboy:

86K -> 209K

Black Beatles:

136k -> 330K

24K Magic:

77k -> 187K

Shape of You:

240K -> 582K

120K -> 291K

104K ->252K

200K -> 485K

147K -> 356K

141K -> 342K

116K ->281K

104K -> 252K

97K -> 235K

85K -> 206K

I Don't Wanna Live:

137K -> 332K

Million Reasons:

149K -> 361K

Humble:

111K -> 269K

Sign of the Times:

142K -> 344K

Shape of You would already be past the 4m mark in 2012's climate (highest year for overall digital sales). :deadbanana3:
