JB managing to make a 90% spanish song a hit all over the world instantly. Such a legend. :jonny::jonny:

It's horrible and it's TRASH :biblio:

Luis Fonsi pulling an Enrique ingles. Thirsty for that crossover hit.

It's Iglesias :rip:

Despacito was already trash, now with Justin Bieber added is even WORSE :mazen:

Despacito :jonny2: The song would be good but I hate it because it's SO overplayed here (you literally can't escape it) but at the same time I'm happy because a latin song is smashing in the US lol

Despacito is #3 combined :alexz:

The song was already a big hit without Bieber now this would be a Monster hit

Despacito was smashing everywhere outside the US before the Justin remix was out but sure :cm:

Not in english-speaking countries it wasn't.

That's because xenophobic countries like the US won't give airplay to full spanish songs :cm:

It's not really a fair comparison. If Pop, Rhythmic, HAC, etc had supported "Despacito" like all their songs on power rotation, it wouldn't have needed that TRAGIC Bieber remix.

It's still not smashing in the UK and Australia tho

why are all Kendrick's tracks back to increasing

it's not xenophobic at all

Harry still holding steady with no video :clap3:

his debut has been an anticlimax

Why play a song nobody listening to your station can understand? That's not xenophobic.

They play 100% english songs in Latin American Radios and in Spain's radios. WhY THE DOUBLE STANDARDS?

as if all italian people would understand all the English songs radio plays here :toofunny2:

Humble and Sign of the Times have been constantly on Top Tracks since release, I'm curious about their fall once they aren't there anymore

The Cure is gonna be overtaken by Symphony in the UK soon :'(

Hopefully the song can still get a top 15 debut because the initial iTunes lead was huuuuge. Streaming is such a big factor now and even with a streamable song like TC Gaga just can't make the jump she needs.

Here's to hoping :weeps:

I want to point out something about the first person in your sig but I have 8 WPs. It's not worth it.

i have 9 wp's too but ur fav's debut has been hyped for a long time man. this is not how it was supposed to go

it literally isn't xenophobic that people tend to prefer music that they can understand......and justin is one of the biggest north american pop stars out there, so of course putting him on a remix drew the american crowd.

He's doing fine. Multiple #1 debuts, top 5s too, song is holding steady in most english-speaking countries, etc. And it has no video. He isn't going for a quick little hit

Because they actually do well there? Spanish songs never do well here. There's seriously no argument for why they should play them.

And they do well here because radios play them non-stop :biblio:

If US radios played spanish songs as english songs get played here in Latin America, trust me, they would do well...

"Stay" hasn't had a green update since the video release. It needs to get the #1 ASAP.

A song in Albanian smashed all over Europe last year, so the whole 'people don't understand it' argument is kind of nonsensical, but yeah, America is always fussy about non-American artists
