GP likes a lot of songs that they know are bad (but as they are catchy they like them, it has happened to me also). Being succesful doesn't mean making good music, means making catchy, commercial songs that are going to be liked.

I guess everyone has a different opinion on what makes an artist or a song successful and talented. Just because you have a catchy, commercial song does not necessarily mean that the song is 'bad' or it is not good music.

Maybe the Chainsmokers will finally chart at Alternative now, and maybe even AAA, given this strong sales start. We will see where it ranks on Spotify in the morning. I'm still somewhat surprised Closer didn't even crack the Alternative Top 50, given Halsey was featured and that the song didn't seem out of place compared to much of what the format already plays.

Any criticism on the new chainsmoker song is automatically valid considering they are so desperate to churn out new songs/hits that they reused a breakdown of one of their own songs. And it's not like Roses was unpopular. 

 

Literally remade their heir own song. Ugh the laziness. To think I almost started to like them :skull:

Similarly Paris is a Closer rehash.

 

But Roses/DLMD and a good bit of their cuts are gems. The singles have been hungry though. I typically have no problem with em.

Nah. I'm sure the EP will have many Alt Rock songs. The album had many. They will continue to mix it. But of course, the Pop singles will always be bigger. 

Adventure Of A Lifetime was even #1 on Alternative radio and Up&Up was top10.
