Would a Gwen Stefani-style rebrand work for Katy Perry?
I think she needs to ditch the cartoonish videos and the whole "look, I'm so fun and quirky" image. It's time to show a more human, grounded side of her. Sonically and lyrically, Ghost is a great reference, and Harleys in Hawaii too. She can be sexy, cool, and relatable without trying so hard.

Is Christina Aguilera -> Stripped the most drastic rebrand in pop?
Well...

Houdini won Best Choreography over Greedy. Why?
Well deserved IMO Its memorable and infectious, i keep going back to the Grammys performance.
-
Lucky Daye - 'Algorithm'
Solid album but he has this Bruno effect on him this era and I am not sure i am into it. His first two were more edgy and experimental. The title track, Algorithm,is my favorite but what is going on after the chorus until the end? Was that really necessary?

Radical Optimism. What went wrong???
Lack of promo certainly effected the impact of the rollout and I think she wanted it to be this way. Houdini was perfect IMO, it was certainly in her lane but with a new and exciting touch on the production. They made a huge mistake releasing it in christmas and then let it fade. The album is not bad, it is nice, but lacks the vision she has and sounds like many Eurovision entries one after the other. She might end up like Carly Rae Jepsen, cute dance pop albums with the remaining of the dedicated gay fan base.

Houdini VS I'm a Slave 4 U.
Houdini and its MV are definitely great but Slave is in a whole another level. Houdini has the better production but Slave as a whole is definitely eargasmic. That choreography alone is one of the best in pop history.

Taylor surpasses Mariah, becomes third bestselling female of all time: Chartmasters
Congrats Taylor, this is so deserving. She's still so young and it's really exciting to watch her go all the way. As a lamb, I'm just reminded again how much potential Mariah still has but she is somehow okay to being reduced to a seasonal singer. Even the recent embrace for being "defrosted". She is an artist, a songwriter, with an amazing catalogue, but she clearly isn't inspired at all, anymore, sadly.

Dua Lipa - "Houdini"
I love how the video feels simple but there are actually, and literally, many angles to it that I think editing must have taken a lot of time and effort. I already like it better than DSN to be honest.
-
Dua Lipa - "Houdini"
Whoa. Yes she stayed in her lane but also made it sound so fresh and new. The evolution This is gonna sound & feel amazing at the clubs.

Katy Perry on KP6: “You better call it KP SEX” / Comes out in 2024 + Tour in Fall
I think she shines best when there is an edgy or a darker element - E.T., Dark Horse or even Harleys in Hawaii. Something along the lines of Say It Right for ex. I can see her being huge again if she goes for that and not something like Hey Hey Hey.
-
Mariah Carey
It's such a bop, it should have done more.
-
Lucky Daye f/ Bruno Mars & D'Mile - "That's You"
This is a bit too Bruno for me, and gets a bit messy towards the end.
-
Mariah Carey
Yeah pointless interview indeed. They should have talked more about the tour. One of the rare interviews she didn't ramble lol. Maybe she was tired. She's having fun and looking awesome though, loving this era already.

Majid Jordan - 'Good People / Afterhours'
Also found the singles a bit underwhelming after their previous efforts and the rest of the album/EP is the same. Nice grooves though. Really liked "Slip". I am also seeing them next year btw, can't wait.
