Why don't modern music videos have that 'spark' compared to '90s/2000s videos?
!!! the imperfections is a lost art in music videos today. the goal now is perfecting the visual, while many iconic videos we know were imperfect. many videos back then had BTS footage, bloopers, etc. as if they were starring in a blockbuster film. there was a discipline and passion in making the overall footage great. from executing the visual to choreo to fashion to props to easter eggs.

and now we’re stuck with “songwriters” that sing offkey.

Why don't modern music videos have that 'spark' compared to '90s/2000s videos?
it was a different hustle back then. music videos held the same weight as releasing a single. thats why artists would drop a single first, then a visual to keep the momentum going til they perform the song. labels would invest into MTV, BET, and etc. but that energy is more geared towards streaming. also in the 90s/00s we were just getting exposed to the Internet and visual concepts. so it was beneficial to see artist’s express themselves creatively. the artist could expand more into what the song means to them thus making it more iconic.

Which artist has the most singles that came and went?
taylor is a unique case. she took the same formula as katy and turned it into a brand. since lover, the brand is more of a priority than the music itself.

Will Gaga maintain success in her 40s?
i think MAYHEM was her experiment in blending all her influences into one album to appeal to all of her audiences. tbh she should keep that formula going.

Which artist has the most singles that came and went?
All our faves have duds in their discography. Some were career-saving moves, some were questionable label decisions, and some just tried to be edgy. For me, its Bieber.

Will Gaga maintain success in her 40s?
Lady Gaga (40) is one of the few veteran artists still actively contributing to pop music. But will her success continue into her 40s, or will this new decade bring a greater challenges for relevance and success? Career-wise she is on the right track, but also one of the biggest anomalies. Poll included but anon so the people can vote safely.
