the singles except for After All killed my hype completely. ngl. i was hopeless for this but thank goodness she proved me wrong imo this album showcases all the best sides of Carly from her past albums. there's even a moment that gave Debut to me. it's such a blissful listen from start to finish and the amount of gaggery this gives might be overwhelming after a moment but trust, this 1hr 24 min run is oh so worth it. both sides are gorgeous. this album is just so sophisticated and elegant. i'm just stunned. she truly knows how to serve pop music. here's to another perfect addition to her already wonderful discog! + the fact this album got me going WE GO HARD IN THIS FAMILY!... even Motivation is growing on me the pre-singles work really well in the context of this record. already in my all-time Top 3 Carly alberms... i believe it can become my #1...

also, she needs to stop sounding obnoxious towards her international fans. as if they weren't the reason why her career somehow stayed afloat from 2010-2013. she's rightfully getting dragged on the internet for her recent comments. and i desperately need Chateau Marmont to be burnt down hopefully her L.A. fans can buy the dozens of meaningless variants she dropped so that she could continue affording a stay there or like buy Maxx some food or whatever. i'm going to be supporting this record only if im 15 minutes away from her house

for me, this was disappointing. this album desperately needed more of the atmosphere, the energy and ofc the BASS that BP, DR & Innocent Ways provided. for her to go "the kids don't wanna dance!" and then place all those soulless, undercooked, dry songs afterwards is a laughable choice made by her. i'm gonna need her to do better next time. and no, Something Beautiful clears this with ease and even Younger Now is a stronger album with a much better cohesion than... whatever this is. Innocent Ways is the only song that sounds "cooked". thank goodness for that track. enjoyed the Can't Be Tamed x Heaven on Earth vibes on that one.
