not only Billie's best album to date but one of the finest pop albums of the decade so far it's the perfect blend of progressive pop and her more nostalgic balladry and it's so wonderfully concise too! says all it needs to say in less than 45 minutes and in 10 tracks. reminds me of a pop version of St. Vincent's similarly phenomenal All Born Screaming, just so concise and yet speaks to the artist's artistry as a whole statement

I actually think, from reading the descriptions, Charli is about to release one with Music, Fashion, Film. Carly's Day and Night could be major too …but based on those who don't have albums in the planned future, either Gaga or Kelly, depending on who will release first I'd Be Lyin' is so excellent and gives me the feeling that a full project with that sound could be in Kelly's wheelhouse once again. Gaga's gonna top Mayhem somehow, she's gonna do something else major I can feel it

relistening to the singles right now for the first time in a bit, I'm so excited for this album! I'm very happy that she's pulling what feels like a 180° from Brat. it's proof that she's always marched to the beat of no one's drum but her own! I can't personally compare her to Lana because to me they're of the same tumblr generation. to me, she feels like (and always has, as a matter of fact) the 2010s and 2020s Santigold or M.I.A., but far more prolific than either (and obviously disregarding what became of M.I.A.). just in the way she's so attuned to the time and sorta leads it musically, always innovating but never being afraid to reference the past. she's a clear lover of new wave and punk, she's a clear lover of glam rock, she's a clear lover of Madonna and Janet and Britney and Gaga… you know what I mean? she's collagist and always progressive. Lana is more fixated on vintage aesthetics and a more downbeat sort of nostalgia, whereas Charli's is more excitable and manic. I wonder how my ex roommate and ex friend group are all reacting to this new music. I don't talk to any of them anymore cause of our falling out back in January and February, but I've seen them at the pool a few times. my ex roommate was always talking about how he wasn't particularly a fan of Charli's music pre-Brat (he hadn't listened to it until the Brat era, of course, other than the occasional song I'd play in the car whenever we drove together) so it kinda tickles me the thought of him and all them disowning their enjoyment of her new music I've been a fan since early 2013, back in the monocultural tumblr era, and Charli has never been just what Brat became. she's so much more than that. Pop 2 will probably always be my fav project of hers but the True Romance and Sucker eras were sooooo definitive of a time in my high school years… yeah. I'm always gonna be perched for whatever she releases the real ones get it
