it's just that, imo, no one person can be the singular arbiter of the fashions in which a competent musician can expand upon their respective craftsmanships

actually a few things for you since you're wanting to go there, and I'm speaking as a classically trained musician myself who was trained on upright bass but who also loves singing and playing piano, guitar, and a few other instruments but whose classically trained expertise was really just limited to playing bass: (1) not all of us actually LIKE to strictly play by ear. it can be fun sometimes, granted, but there are elements of musicianship that involve actually enjoying seeing things written out to see how we can expand upon them after they're written out. (2) not all of us are born with perfect pitch. there's such a thing as relative pitch wherein with time and amalgamated experience we can find pitches in our way and at our own pace. it's the same thing how I grew up not being a good singer but how I was able to, with time and focused energy, teach myself to become a good singer. nature vs nurture and if you really put in the energy to nurture and hone those skills, it really doesn't f*cking matter that you weren't born with it and (3) different fashions of memorization and commemoration. who knows how she, personally, wants to teach herself to remember the progression and how she wants to remember the moment she felt would become a special one, in hindsight. so yeah thanks for reading starshine k bye

Prism is the better album and has the better cover I'd say My Everything takes singles though… I LOVE Roar, Unconditionally, and Birthday but the other two singles are godawful it's a little nuts because Birthday might be my second favorite Katy song after Tenge Dram (), but Dark Horse is literally the PITS imo. crazy how the one I can't stand became such a big hit and yet the one I love so much was the start of Katy underperforming shows how horrible the American GP's taste can be I suppose! otoh, every single from My Everything is excellent
