I mean wasn't there just recently an interview or something where she (or someone from her team) said that she took inspiration from other ''underground'' house artists such as Azelia Banks? She didn't start the trend, as it has been going on for decades in the underground gay-scene, but I can see her and her record if it contains the same elements as BMS to inspire mainstream artists in some ways.

Meh, I think they're good considering that she debuted when vinyls were still the main thing to buy music.
