I think it’s simple. The song brings nothing new. It’s generic, safe, doesn’t have a good melody. The reason so many of his songs were successful prior to the 2010s is because there was a gritty, experimental vibe to them. They also had infectious melodies. All of that is missing here. they were hoping the song would sell on their names alone and that’s obviously not going to happen 14+ years after their peaks. Had they made something good, I think it would have been great for all of their careers but unfortunately this was a wasted opportunity.

that is the truth though. katy has always been campy and awkward but with the hair and makeup, she made it digestible. Her beauty sold her and her hair contributed to that beauty. When she cut her hair she looked like a random soccer mom. Most pop stars, especially 5+ years ago, were not only required to be talented, but stereotypically beautiful. I don’t know how anyone can argue that her dying her hair blonde and then chopping it off wasn’t the major reason she flopped. the insensitive comments, less commercial music may have slightly contributed but I 100% feel she would have experienced much more success if she had simply looked like Katy Perry the entire era.

I had grown up really liking Thalia and I still like her better. I think she's always been way more attractive physically and has a much better voice than Paulina. However, I can't deny that Paulina has a MUCH better ear for music and overall has better visuals as well. Thalia's novela songs were all better than most of the music she actually released. So many of her songs had so much potential to be better like, amor a la mexicana and piel morena but the structure on them is off and they end up being extremely repetitive. The visuals for them could also be much better. Even Paulina's first singles are remembered like ese hombre es mio etc. Thalia has had much better recent singles than Paulina though.

Damn Cyndis are probably the all time best first two singles. Both songs are complete classics that have stood the test of time.

I like her. I first knew about her from Jane the virgin, before Wednesday came out I noticed she heavily gravitated towards darker roles which I really appreciate it. She’s right about what she said about Wednesday, it’s mid. It has so much potential but mainly the only good thing about her is her performance. People say it’s a kids show and use stranger things as an example and that comparison couldn’t be more off consider stranger things actually a great show and it’s very well written. Adults love stranger things. anyway, I hope she continues speaking out and steers Wednesday towards the correct path.

For me, and many others, the final straw was when they killed Carl off (season 8). They wrote a love interest for him and everything just to lazily kill him off. Had they kept him alive and improved things here and there the show could have continue being a phenomenon for 10+ years imo. I remember seeing the ratings from that episode vs the following and they fell I think by 50% and stayed that way. That was the final nail in the coffin undoubtedly. It’s even worse the rumored reasons for them killing him off was that the actor asked for a raise. Really thoughtless and selfish decision to “retaliate” by killing him off but I’m glad the audience spoke and tuned out immediately after. im surprised that it lasted a few more seasons after.

It’s true the show isn’t good and it’s very cheesy. She really is the only good thing about the show.
