I have zero expectations these 4 new songs will be groundbreaking. Now, why would she intentionally leave out 4 better songs and give us inferior tracks to begin with? Some of yall are expecting surefire bops because why would she waste all this energy on songs that aren't good? Did we forget all the duds she released for the TV vault tracks? I don't even touch half or 3/4 of the vault tracks I stopped trusting her when she thought ME! was the best thing ever at one point. I miss the days when her standard albums were masterpieces with no skips or 1 or 2 skips. She releases so fast now, there's no quality control.

The track itself is far below mid. It doesn't even hold a candle to 16 year old Debut Taylor's songwriting and melodies. She has had way better country songs. It sitting in the top 3 doesn't say much. The bar is pretty low these days.

Guess what? Two things can be true. A person can be horrible but still had a good business impact on Taylor's earlier career. Don't act like Scott Borschetta didn't have a hand in her career. I am sure Taylor herself appreciates some of Scott's contributions even if they didn't fully see eye to eye. She didn't get to where she is entirely alone. She had a manager, a full team, and cowriters. If you DENY this or even try to argue against this, then you are one of the people who view Taylor through rose colored glasses.

I try to avoid debating about Lover to be honest because it's acclaimed worldwide so it appears to be a very beloved album. I wouldn't have chosen ME! as a single though haha. Cruel Summer was such a missed opportunity!

I noticed it right away. That's one of the things Scott Borschetta must've been really good at when you look at her music in hindsight. He made the right single choices for her. Taylor is good at some things but not all things. I like her ambitions but she is NOT a good music video director. She only has 2 good videos in my opinion: Cardigan and Ophelia. I think fame has inflated her ego. She has too many Yes people around her because she's a billionaire. They're not going to say no and I think that's a big detriment to her. This is why I want Debut TV so bad because she needs to be humbled and be reminded of her roots.
