HDD: Taylor 50m streams first week.

In its first week of streaming, Taylor Swift's reputation is projected to generate 45-55 million streams, resulting in an SEA of about 30-35k, an increase of about 20-25k vs. last week. Wonderers are wondering if her team's strategy of withholding streaming has paid off.

Sales of the Big Machine set, her first album since 2014's 1989, are 1.58m YTD after three weeks. The TEA/SEA combo adds another 60k for an SPS total of 1.64m. At the same point in its release, 1989 had sold 1.94m, 300k more than reputation's SPS equivalent. That said, reputation is now #2 at Apple Music.

Underwhelming (Demi Lovato did 30m streams first week for comparison) but that's bound to happen when you continue to be somewhat anti-streaming in 2017 while having no solid hit.

I think her streams will hold up for the weeks coming instead of big drops though since she's such a big name. :siptea:

That's disappointing, she really should've dropped it on Spotify first week. I mean those album sales are what will get her those coins but choosing sales over streaming in this age is rather dumb. I don't think it'll hurt her in a big way but it may affect her sustainability in the streaming race.

What were Katy's first week streams? Since she's more streaming oriented I'm just curious how it compares to other albums.

In the end these are still the best first week streams for a female album this year right? Imagine if she had put it on streaming in release week, it would've done 100+.

@iHype. how tragic were Rainbows first week streams? I remember her selling 90k Pure and ending with 117k SPS+. Does that place her somewhere in the 20M range.

Has streaming ever been what Taylor's been after? Obviously not lol.

Is that with Youtube?

Idgi. Best streaming #s since forever for a female and its not even debut (or 2nd) week. And its low? :rip:

She has waited for too long, she should’ve dropped it the two weeks after the release maximum

anyway, I don’t think that this is bad for her. If she pulls a couple of hits on Blank Space-Bad Blood-Wildest Dreams level, she will be fine

I said she'd be lucky to do 50M streams, so...

Considering her singles are underperforming and the lead single was front loaded, it's doing alright. Especially comparing it to Demi's peak era

We don't have the leak for that week but if she did around 20k SEA (which she probably did) that would be 30 million. She did 18.8 million second week. It helps to have a hit

Who cares? Who’s streaming when well over 1 million people have bought the album? Those million people’s plays aren’t being counted, right?

Considering it’s been out for more than three weeks, it’s very good

This is literally the only thing important

So 50M isn't bad at all

Not that this affects her that much, but generally speaking moving with the times and being relevant on current formats is what sustains a career. She doesn’t need it right now, but who knows, having a big streaming base may actually help her in the future (see Bon Appetit YT stats)

If coins are what She wanted and it's what She got, how is that dumb?
