Do you collect air miles?

Featured Replies

So I've been collecting air miles for a while (Aeroplan points, to be specific) and I've recently crossed 130,000. That basically let's me fly anywhere round-trip, maybe excluding Australia and New Zealand, from Canada chick1 I've only spent like 8k in the past... but mama over here might decide to splurge soon.

Are you an air miles connoisseur? Do you have any tips for me, a mere novice, or anyone else who might stumble upon this thread? Or do you have any suggestions as to where to go? Lmk!

I always use my credit cards that give me these kind of perks. So yes, I'm a fan of it. I feel like there's someone you should definitely come seeeeeeeee.

Yeah, I have two cards that build points on. Every year I get about $800 worth of points and flight credits which I use pretty often to go to weddings, visit family on the holidays, or special events.

I fly a lot (probably around 30-40 flights a year if not more) and get loyalty points whenever automatically available, but I never prioritise getting points. I look out for best overall price (and convenience). I find if I can save 50$ on a ticket price with a different airline there's no point trying to pay a higher price with preferred points airline just to get 5$ in miles down the line.

It gets to the point of a free flight and back every 18 months or so

130k is a lot omg

Despite my paralyzing fear of airplanes, I fly regularly and always earn miles

But annually I only earn about 30–40k

I've been meaning to but idk where to start. Anyone have a good recommendation for a card that has good travel perks?
