My friends and I were talking about BLACKPINK, and the conversation suddenly shifted to Jisoo. Her latest EP was much less successful compared to the other members' releases, and it even performed worse than her own EP ME.

Why do you think Jisoo couldn't replicate the success of 'Flower'? One of my friends said that maybe this is actually Jisoo's real level of success, and that 'Flower' was such a huge hit that it made us believe she could consistently do better. What do you think?

Because she's Jisoo

Mostly because she dropped an EP rather than a whole LP, which would have made a bigger moment for Jisoo (and most likely will in 2026), but also Lisa's 'Alter Ego' & Jennie's 'Ruby' were nearing very quickly so the focus shifted soon.

Plus Jisoo's project was definitely the most kpop out of all solo projects, which probably garnered more success in the markets where kpop is favoured, however in the US not many would consume the songs that often.

Also 'earthquake' as the lead didn't do much as it wasn't largely supported or promoted, the song lacked any kpop elements so the main target audience was confused, and the audience that this song was supposed to target either didn't bother listening or ended up moving on quickly .

tbf none of this girls solo are doing that well either maybe outside of Rose's APT collab with Bruno or Jennie's tiktok hit "Like Jennie"

they have sales but that is bc they have a huge purchasing fanbase courtesy from China.

It sold 630k pure sales. I know the albums cost more than $10, but if you used the standard $10 revenue model, that would $6.3M, or the equivalent of 4.2B Spotify streams.

I'm sure her label is more than happy with the outcome.

It sold decent pure sales, sold very well in China. It was a success and a decent EP but I think it being an EP ruined the hype.

Jennie is doing quite well period.

She has two collabs doing well, Like Jennie, her album sold very well and pretty good streams across all tracks. Ruby is getting more streams than all the other albums. I think people forget Mantra has 500 million streams, ExtraL 300m.

All 4 girls (Jennie, Rose, Lisa, Jisoo) are superstars in Asia. Jisoo is having a Netflix hit series with Boyfriend on Demand at this exact moment.

I think she doesn't care about success tbh she is just releasing music to gain some easy money and that's it and you can tell her main passion is acting and modelling.

JISOO is my fave of the girls because i love her being the dark one, even though her music doesn't prove that. I was amazed when all the girls dropped a playlist with their fave songs and the JISOO one was the most alt leaning. I would love to see her music career gain some success but I think she just doesn't care and if she would she would have dropped an album by this time or would have promoted at an American late show or something
