It was absolutely stunning. A heart breaking story, and a queer/trans one! 

She was great, but I think what they were getting at is JLo is on the outside looking in in terms of Best Supporting Actress. Doing Roundtables like this helps, but considering her fellow actresses the prestige of this roundtable is not really where it used to be. Her inclusion here is a little puzzling when there are bigger names (awards-wise) in her category, but she clearly wants it so good on her for taking any/all opportunities.

When the movie came out shes was in the top 5 for Best Supporting Actress predictions, so im really not sure why anyone has an issue with her being there.

 

Sounds like misplaced hate by people who didn't take the time to watch the movie and just want to pin her against everyone.

Early predictions are based on vibes  she's definitely a contender, but she's far from a sure thing. On the contrary, she's got less of a shot than Amy Madigan atp, but she's clearly willing to stomp the pavement for the movie so we'll see if that's enough to make up for its performance at the box office and the lack of a formal campaign from the studio (it's an indie after all). Her chances going into the Hustlers awards season were a lot better than this time around, and she couldn't get in then.
