Artists don't last for so long nowadays

But also as Karen Walker once said: It's funny cause it's true

Just crazy how she went from a #1 single and top 10 with the Scarlet era to not even a top 20 hit with Vie

I've never really bought the argument that Doja doesn't have a big fanbase or "covid ruined her ability to gain fans by touring." Let's be real, in a period of 4 years the girl got 14 Top 20 hits. TikTok is not responsible for all of them. She genuinely made some bops and the GP was here for it. She falls among the most dominant pop artists of the first half of the decade.

 

PH even sold 109k first week. But directly after that is when she started dragging her fans both on social media and in songs and it was always perceived as trying to impress right-wing white men. Her first week sales declined by 35k after that. It was also confusing to people that she put so much energy into trashing sugar pop to be viewed more seriously as a rapper only to do a 180 and return to sugar pop when Scarlet didn't match PH.

 

Vie is an amazing album but people tuned out because they were tired of being trolled. The base she gained with HP and PH aren't into stanning someone that is edgelord podcast bro-coded. 
 

But if Lana can go from selling 30k in her controversial right-coded era to rebounding at 100k+ with Tunnel, Doja can recover too… especially once she's on a new label. 

She needs a break. The album was uninspired.
