Inspired by today's threads asking if artists like Beyoncè, Britney, Madonna, Gaga, Xtina, Miley, Sabrina, and Lana are legends, do you think Lights, the "Up We Go" singer and the Billboard Canada Visionary Award recipient, is a legend? Why or why not?

Yes.  Not only did she invent pop, but she also spearheaded its evolution.  She started out as a local indie singer/songwriter from a small town in northeastern Ontario, posting songs on her personal MySpace page at a time when sharing your own original music on social media wasn't really a "thing." This helped her gain a cult online fanbase, before branching out to becoming one of the best-selling female pop artists in the entire world.  Other flop artists like Taylor Swift attempted to copy Lights' method of reaching new audiences through social media, but they were merely trendchasers of Ms. Poxleitner's avant-garde movement.  While Taylor Swift's debut album only managed to peak at #14 on the Billboard Canadian charts, Lights' debut album peaked at #7, meaning that her album sold twice as much as Taylor's. Nobody would have been able to guess that a young girl from a small town in Canada would be able to achieve such chart-topping, globe-dominating levels of success.  But Lights proved everybody wrong.

Yes. The Listening is an indietronica classic. Siberia is a master work, and is actually one of the only electropop albums that managed to incorporate dubstep without sounding like a mess. Owl City wishes he had her ability to reinvent.
