How far will Katseye go?

Featured Replies

It's crazy, it feels like these girls came out of nowhere and are suddenly everywhere right now. Feels like EVERY week there's a new hot topic around them esp after the 1-2-3 punch of Gnarly/Lollapollza/Gap ad. Plus, after watching Lola, they seem genuinely talented (the choreo and them singing live the entire time :WAP:

Is this a one era dud or do we have a new group of supremes?

They're still only beginning. The next era will be a big hit for them. They're playing their cards right for a eventual top 10 and a massive era. I just hope we can get a couple of full albums from the girlies before all is said and done, they're great together

if they develop their artistry (e.g. let them be more involved) in the music side, layer their vocals, continue singing live (and introduce harmonies), and continue performing at this level, they will go far.

I wish for the GAP ad they used one of their songs (idk which one) because it would have made people tune in for their music more. Some people may just see them as dancers.

It was pretty clear they were a girl group even to the GP imo, but yeah big promo loss opportunity. Milkshake kinda served for the Sydney shade though

They just need THE song. I thought Gabriela was going to be it, but guess not.

Within one year they managed to have three small hits. A year from now Gabriela will be at 400M-630M streams (likely 500-550M streams). Gnarly will be at 345M-490M (likely 400-450M streams). These numbers are good especially for a Western Girl Group in modern day. I think that they just need their Super Shy/Magnetic level hit then their Golden/Cupid level hit to really solidify their position and prowess. They  are building a fanbase and have good online engagement but they just aren't there yet. So far their momentum has been going up and at the rate they are going, they will be a extremely popular girl group (equivalent or bigger than say BP) 2-3 years from now. But that is only if they keep up their current trend which would be difficult because maintaining 3-4 years of steady and significant growth is super rare. I don't know where KATSEYE will be a year from now but I just hope their careers flourish and have longevity. Because even Fifth Harmony showed that having a megahit didn't translate to sales, touring, or longevity for the group and its members solo ventures. It isn't just about a hit song.

they prob will end up in the same boat as FLO.

Flo's most streamed song across Spotify and YouTube is 80M. Katseye's is 660M. Across YouTube and Spotify, Katseye has 189M monthly listeners and FLO has 4M. Let's be serious. Katseye audience is 48x larger than Flo's. Not saying KATSEYE can't flop or won't ever flop after this but their trajectory is very good thus far. If they keep up and maintain this or have a massive hit, it'll be smooth sailing from there.

They have a great blend of Korean marketing/fan service/training and Western artist personas. The girls are all likeable, can sing, and actually look good doing choreo. Everything seems very well thought out, and the GP is responding positively. Not to mention they have a solid fanbase in Japan & other countries. I think they'll go farther than 5H.
