Madonna 'Garage Study #1"

how can anyone hear those first seconds where you can't even understand what she says and read those absolutely stupid lyrics and think "this is good"? the only good redeeming thing about it, it's the instrumental and that's it. :deadbanana:

mx is literally the worst album she ever created and her worst era as a whole. AWFUL lead single, cliché theme, bad-uninspired lyrics, overuse of autotune, awful featurings, bad/cheap visuals, all over the place sonically.

The promotion wasn't any better. Bad live performances, interviews that did more harm than any good... she wasn't even physically well at that time. The tour was basic af... It was SO cursed :rip:

Well I did not comment on the era, but Madame X as an album clears both Rebel and ShitNA for me (these are her worst albums along with her debut).

The MDNA tour was her last good tour until Celebration, so I got nothing to say about it.

  • Anyone else tired of this aesthetic from her? The whole lingerie / dominatrix jerking and gyrating in a small room has been something she's been NON STOP doing since like 2009 with Celebration  maybe

She kinda sounds like Billie here. This teaser seems promising

i disagree. Rebel Heart is waaaay more well done than whatever she tried to do in MX. In fact, i think that's her best effort in the 10s.  You can tell she actually cared about sounding modern, the lyrics and having fun with it. The concept makes since even if it doesn't have an especific sound. MDNA was just an excuse to go on tour.

i think some fans are just blinded with MX because she did something "different". Yes, she did. But different doesn't mean good. In fact, it was quite bad.

And I think that some fans wanted the same old from her, which RH was, with a scrambled tracklist nonetheless, and heavily overproduced.

I will die on the hill that songs like Extreme Occident are way better than anything she's put out since 2005.

Yes the look is tired, she should wear more purple colors they work wonders on her

I agree with everything you said.

That's the problem.... "New work with William Orbit", "New album with Mirwais".... All that was all clickbait. Not even the best song she has done with them post 2005 could elevate to the lowest one she has done on ROL/Music/American Life.

So yeah imagining something as great as COADF, in 2025... I have all right to think that's  delulu ahha. But maybe Madonna can prove me wrong (even if the chances are very low)

And yeah... She has milked the europop/electro/EDM route so hard those past years, same for hip-hop/trap beats... For a queen of re invention, it's getting very old.

I have faith in Price tho, he's a smart guy

I agree, RH is underrated, LFL is the best lead single after Hung Up and it deserved a better exposure. For sure the album is not perfect and I would have love to hear the final demo arrangements for some of the songs, but overall it's her best work post-Confessions. She made her biggest career mistake tho, not releasing Rebel Heart (Avicii demo) as a real track and single

RH had amazing sessions but the final mix is.... A mess. I agree tho the demos were impressive but they didn't manage to keep the spirit on the album.

Madame X is like three different directions that try to mix together on the same record.

I rarely see a post I truly agree with but this is it! Exactly that, every word

i remember i used to be OBSESSED with Living For Love but i wish the intrumental drop was more catchy and more gospel choirs. They could have gone way harder with it but keep it safe. Devil Pray gave me American life/00s Madonna vibes and i loved it.

i suppose the massive leaks had an impact on its final result. I always felt like something is missing after the first 7 songs. The album starts VERY strong and then starts losing power. It needs a dance song or something to pick it up. Wash All Over Me and Rebel Heart by Avicii could have been the solution but...

the album was so bad that made me stop listening to her for months. :deadbanana: that's how disappointed i was. I still remember when the tracklist was revealed and i COULDN'T BELIEVE those song names. :rip: omg rough times.
