    I believe Melodrama remains her magnum opus, but Virgin sounds absolutely incredible. It's the Lorde we know, yet it also feels incredibly refreshing. In Hammer, she mentioned, "I might be born again,

haters said WWT was reheating Melodrama nachos

 

now they're saying MOTY is reheating Solar Power nachos from a 10 second snippet

 

i honestly want to ban the word "nachos" from now on because it's such a shallow and vague term and people just use it to label things instantly in cases like this.

 

i think this snippet is giving a new kind of production for her combined with Solar Power vocals, which is overall something unique again, it's not directly Solar Power vibes. i'm not even counting the fact that we haven't heard the full song yet.

 

both WWT and MOTY so far feel more like a blend of elements from all her eras, with something new added on top. i think the album will be like best of both worlds, a fresh combination of the best parts of her earlier works.

    Honestly I can't stop listening to "What Was That" it is an instant ESSENTIAL Lorde track honestly. :jonny5: For some reason I only just noticed her sigh after the "I face reality" and I FEEL that!!!!!! Nothing harder in life than facing it quite frankly.

    I'm excited for MOTY (coming who knows when) the Virgin but this type of roll outs don't work for her at all. 1 month between lead single and the album would have been enough tine to announce preorders, tour, make some promo and keep people hyped. I know none of this will matter in the long run cause she's an album artist and if the Virgin is good people will eventually connect with it but this past weeks have not been fun at all as a fan.
