I enjoy the stats conversations on here so I always have a good time when we argue. Plus, it finally gets this thread moving again.

 

And for what it's worth, I am rooting for SKZ at the end of the day. I don't like their music, but we haven't seen a group of good people as the top male artists in forever. I am much happier seeing them as the top boy band than I was the likes of BTS, NCT and Super Junior.

Anyway, here are SKZ's fully reported tour numbers. Take a look and then try to estimate whether aespa could ever catch up to any of these (except for the cancelled District 9 tour).

If you look at SKZ's tour numbers, you can see the insane evolution - each tour grows massively, with attendance and revenue increasing over 20x from their first tour to their latest. That's not the same case with aespa. They still haven't even surpassed SKZ's 2nd world tour, "Maniac".

 

 

I brought up Circle not because of Aespa's domestic popularity, but because their chart weeds out plays based on unique listeners. Even if you look at Spotify now, both Aespa and SKZ have 11.3M monthly listeners but SKZ have 9.8M daily streams versus Aespa's 3.7M.  SKZ are a force on Stationhead and maintain at least 2k listeners even when they're inactive. For comparison's sake, Aespa hit 1.2k on the day of a comeback and fall below 1k almost immediately. While it's fair to say SKZ's fans are working harder to make their songs more popular, it's also fair to say that Aespa are hitting just as many unique listeners.

 

The other thing to mention is that Aespa are outperforming SKZ on metrics like Apple Music, Bugs, Genie, Melon, Naver and YouTube Music. The only application where numbers are disclosed globally that SKZ is outdoing Aespa on is Spotify. This is again why I point out that SKZ are Stationhead artists - the fans are all focused on one platform so it only makes their numbers look huge if you're just focused on Spotify. For example, SKZ are at 7.6B on YTM with three more albums, three more years and at least 10 more MVs than Aespa, who are already at 6.1B and moving 1.5B+ streams a year. 
 

I can concede that SKZ's 9 years of career are overall bigger than Aespa's 6 years. I can also concede that Aespa's next 3 years aren't guaranteed and, with how fickle the industry is towards women, there's no guarantee they'll even make it another three years. That being said, Aespa are still much further ahead of SKZ in terms of streams and touring at the same point and they will surpass SKZ unless they get sabotaged.

 

As far as touring goes, SKZ's UNVEIL Tour was literally a global outing and it managed to do like 10+ shows, didn't it? For some reason it always gets left out. I haven't updated my thread in a minute, but Hyper Line did $10M+ and Parallel Line did $50M+. They're currently on a tour that's going to do better than Parallel Line unless it gets canceled and it's already over $10M+, surpassing SKZ's first three tours. It will gross another $40M+, putting them past SKZ's first four official outings. It'll be insanely hard for Aespa to surpass SKZ's numbers when they're both at 5 tours, but unless SM keeps undercutting their venues, they could still potentially do it.
