Will "Wicked" Level-up Ariana's Popularity?

Featured Replies

Many people still downplay how talented Ariana is. As per early reviews, she was the standout of the film and if Wicked becomes a blockbuster, do you think more people will listen to her already popular music? Btw, her daily Spotify streams have increased ever since they started the Wicked WW tour, an indication that more people are discovering her.

Are we pretending she didn't peak with thank you, next? Ariana has always been a MPG.

I mean, she's already extremely famous. If anything it'll just be kinda reminding people to check out her music if they've been tuned out for a couple years, but I don't see how it could make her much bigger. However what I think it WILL do is set her up for this next phase of her career very well, just like Gaga with A Star is Born. Not necessarily newer fans or becoming bigger, but gaining respect and thus having an even bigger cushion in the future if she were to flop to be given the grace for a proper comeback

Maybe as an actress for film fans or people into mainly movies & tv who might not recognize her/know her to more than surface level.

She already is very popular/known/recognized on an international level, off of her music career, the main force/catalyst to her big popularity, and, to a level, off of her shows on Nickelodeon.

Most people already knew/recognized Ariana Grande when her casting was announced, through the production process/sneak peeks shared, and during the current multi-nation press tour.

I don't think it will increase her popularity as in make her even more extra popular, when she already is very much, on a huge scale. I believe it might increase the awareness surrounding her, following a hiatus in music. Even during her musical hiatus, she was still a name people were aware about; herself, her marriage, the Wicked movies, droplets during her hiatus, her divorce, her hiatus itself, new music awaitment! Like it may feel like people who weren't consciously aware about her/her image, might be at the moment, IYKWIM. Like, she will become more of a part of the film conversation the the Wicked/Broadway/musical theater conversation, if the film is a success.

She's already globally popular. At least where I come from, the only artist who is arguably bigger than her is Taylor.

I don't think Wicked will necessarily increase her popularity but it will take her career to the next level and cement her legacy, not only as an artist, but also as a well-rounded entertainer.

This could very well be her stepping stone towards a career ala Barbara Streisand, Cher, etc. who have found success both as artists and movie stars.

So excited for her!
