Let's say you told someone you're dating that you were about to leave work. Then you send that you are "resisting the urge to ask to come see you for a little before going home to sleep." 
 

They respond "Go home, we will see each other tomorrow,  we can do something tomorrow whenever we see each other. I just want u to rest. I mean, I'd love to but I want u to rest."

 

Would it hurt your feelings or is that an overreaction? Asking for a friend!

oops, i misread the question. I wouldn't feel sad or angry tbh. Maybe slightly disappointed if I looked forward to it but even then I would just be happy they are honest to me and let me know beforehand they don't want to meet today. I'd find something else to do.

I would invite them to my place next time or wait for them to invite me first instead of the other way around.

Well you didn't ask clearly, so you shouldn't be surprised the answer isn't to your liking. You suggested that you want to rest to the other person, so they took that as a hint. Communicate your need clearly and then you can judge their answer.
