Even outside of the dancing, her energy seemed super low. She kind of looked tired.

 

The performance was still cute, though. I loved seeing her doing actual choreo with a group of dancers.

Im wondering if maybe she needs a head mic and a vocal backing track. Because a song like this really needs good performances and dancing to keep it memorable like the music video

loved the performance but i think she was lipping to pre recorded vocals the whole time 

 

wouldn't have clocked it if she didn't slip towards the end and lost control of the mic

After rewatching the performance a few more times, it's obvious that she was just really nervous tonight. The confidence she usually has wasn't there. I think adding choreo back into her performances may have something to do with it.

 

On another note, she won three awards tonight. I'm so proud

She had an injury earlier this year the postponed her tour and reason why she wasnt dancing as much. The rumor was it was either her back or knee/ankle, If yall know tyla she would dance and twist and go wild on stage but todays performance felt like i was watching a new singer..tyla is new to the world but shes definitely not "new" to crowds or the stage...

Tyla did what she needed to do to with that performance she just gives natural star presence. 

She's getting closer and closer to the dancer she was before her injury. Her vocals were top tier too, love that she reminds people she can actually sing.

Push 2 Start is great so I'm happy it's growing. Deserves to smash but one step at a time

She won a Grammy for Water earlier this year 

 

As for why she's not nominated for 2025? Her submissions were a mess

Tyla ate as usual but I agree that compared to other performances, this one seemed kinda off. Personally, I think they did a bad job with the camera work and the lighting, the long shots killed the vibe and the lighting wasn't the best. 

 

I am so happy to see her succeed though, especially in these fan-voted categories. She has what it takes to become a proper star. Let's just hope that EPIC will not kill the momentum, I will never forgive them for abandoning Jump.
