Masterpiece is so accurate. If an MPG released this, it would have been a huge smash. Such an incredible pop song, and the sample was done in such a fresh way. It wasn't done in a reductive Ava Max/David Guetta way. They just took the instrumental and created something new.

I truly believe if she released it now she could get a cute hit from it. I'm sad she scrapped it and the album that we know she owns Casablanca dd

Post her sophomore record - Lindsay has only ever turned back to music when her acting career was in the bin. 2x scrapped projects - the way she teased Xanax and some kind of release/music video anthology thing. Then crickets!! 

 

Casablanca records remains bankrupt with their biggest act refusing to release music.

Xanax is a bop but I wonder if she got cold feet on releasing it due to the themes of substance use/partying in the song. She has spent the last few years hard re-launching her image and public perception and I can understand if she thought releasing a song with that subject matter and title may not have been the smartest move for her career, at least in terms of her acting career.

I think that's a fair assumption. I just wish she would give us another album as a last hurrah.

I still remember when she teased Back To Me with some corny video that had clips of her controversies (and that meme of her dancing outside a car  ) before the TV blew up in some cheap ass CGI effect and she said "I'm back" in the most disinterested and monotone voice
