What do you mean "sadly not surprising"?   - - - -   This is horrible, I feel so bad for the families of the victims. RIP

Omg please no… RIP to the victims

Apparently this happened at a diversity festival..

Who did it is still at large :mazen:

RIP to the victims, absolutely horrifying

Festivals/large gatherings are just becoming increasingly more dangerous and not worth it. It's such a tragedy for humanity.

How can someone enter a festival with a knife that's big enough to k* 3 and injure multiple people? :rip:

It's not a festival in that sense, it's more of smaller festivities in the center of the city. Everyone can go there.

OT: This is the reason I don't go to big gatherings anymore. We're surrounded by psychos and very disturbed people every day. The less I go out the less I have to worry about being bothered by people, less alone killed. This world is so ****** up. Tired.

i went to a 20k people concert today and they only looked for a sec in my bag, i could've easily hidden a knife in there if i wanted.

some venues are good at security but a lot of them i always think, well we're going by good luck i guess.

OT: horrific, but i'm not surprised and not surprised at another knife case

Oh man, this is terrible. The world is becoming such a dangerous place.

As of now, three people are dead and seven are injured (three of them severely). The terrorist is still on the run and was described by witnesses as "Arabic-looking", according to several newspaper reports.

This happening at a festival celebrating diversity of all things makes it even more tragic, it's almost cynical. I really hope the injured people all make it. I can't believe what the families of the victims must be going through.

Gosh that sucks, the more cases like this happen, the more they will blame immigrants and tighten border control and never solve the root cause.

Oh my goodness! Absolutely terrifying! May the victims have peace.

This attacker easily getting away + the other attack where a police officer tried to arrest one of the victims and got himself murdered by the attacker just paints a really dark image of how unserious they are about safety in Germany :deadbanana2:

Girl I have seen multiple situations where the german police make clowns out of themselves. The best was when I was at a central station and like 8 police officers were trying to apprehend one scrawny dude for like 10 mins and failed MISERABLY. In the end the dude fled and the police ran after him but were much slower. Like WTF.

Made me realise that if I am in danger and have to rely on police I would prolly have a really bad time.

Ofc.

R.I.P. to the victims and hope the injured ones will be well soon.

Hopefully justice will come soon.

rip to the victims…

Just another day in Europe ig

RIP to the victims and may they capture the terrorist quickly

Have they caught the terrorist yet? RIP to the victims. I wonder how many more attacks like this one need to take place for public safety to be taken seriously

So sad, RIP to all the victims.

Off-topic but out of curiosity, what classifies as a 'terrorist' in media reporting specifically? How do they distinguish choosing between "killer", "suspect", "criminal", and "shooter" (I guess in this case it was a knife, but I have a feeling if he was a shooter they would have still labeled this one as a terrorist).

Someone explained it yesterday. I think it was a police officer. They called it a terrorist attack because he specifically attacked the neck and throat of the victims.

A few minutes ago the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
