Does 'brat' rival 'BORN THIS WAY' culturally?

Featured Replies

I feel that both albums shone a light on the LGBTQ+ lifestyle, and brought it out to the general public. BORN THIS WAY with self-acceptance, self-love, inclusivity, gay marriage, and brat with showing the partying lifestyle, being a cool-girl, doing drugs and poppers, and being sexually liberated as LGBT.

What do we think?

Partying is not a LGBTQ+ lifestyle LOL   Although her fanbase is mostly gays, 'brat' is very cis feminine album

Both are good albums, but BTW was a cultural reset of mass proportions. One could feel the vibe shift. Brat did no such thing. They are incomparable.

I'm a millennial gay and I was there.

Then you already know the answer to the question.

They are like totally different. One was ahighly anticipated smash and 1 was an underdog.

Girl you damn well know it doesn't... still the most culturally relevant album of the year though!

I was there during Born This Way and it's overly hyped and overrated

'brat' in its use is more aligned with 'artpop' in the way of how elusive it's applied in its multi-use & meaning in pop culture

'her artpop could mean anything'

'____ is giving brat'

ones an album and the other is a religion

it's not very respectful to compare them

How is brat shining a light on the queer lifestyle? Just because gays love her doesn't mean her music is about gays. Brat is clearly about herself, which is fine. Gaga literally has "BTW" the song on her album.

As a homosexual from the south of France I can tell you that this album changed everything, after this album my country was not the same, the gay people where not ashame anymore and was more proud. This album changed the world.
