The flopping and failure of this song is just unprecedented. It's not even a "Attention" by Doja Cat situation anymore cause that at least charted.

 

She should firstly downgrade "Woman's World" as a promo single. Let this mess blow over in 2 weeks and stay silent until August. Then start the campaign for a new single in August and never EVER acknowledge Woman's World again. Only push Max Martin produced singles moving forward. Maybe consider giving Lukas some laundry money and request removal of all of his (publicized) production credits.

Commercially? Pull this immediately from playlisting and radio and try again in 3-6 months with a new wave and/or country-ish vibe to a non-Luke song with mature, introspective lyrics and a bombastic, mature music video

As much as I've had fun cracking jokes, I don't genuinely enjoy seeing her go out like this. I'm a total softie underneath all my snark. I hate her recent choices for sure (and she's worthy of the criticisms). But I still think she's talented and would like to see her honor that in a more authentic way. 

 

For me, it was very obvious the moment the first snippet of WW dropped that it was going to bomb. So many people said not to judge it, but there was nothing that could have redeemed the first few lines of that song, in my opinion. It was way too trite during a time when so many other artists have been releasing music with fresher sounds, creative angles, and more interesting/impactful things to say. The snippets of other songs she's shared thus far don't give me any additional hope either, unfortunately. We know enough of the era's overall sound/vibe at this point, and she's still so far out from the album release… I can't fathom how any hype will be built and sustained for it. Unless she drops a second single (with haste) and it's miraculously so next level that everyone is willing to ignore WW, I don't see how or why they would want to blow a bunch of money on this rollout.
 

Anyway, I don't know what her contract is like. But in my ideal world (and I'm sure a lot of people won't agree with me) she should already be working on her next project and she should go independent. I want to see and hear her without all the gimmicks. My excitement for her comeback came when I saw her around Coachella time (I think that's when it was) and she was looking soooo effortlessly approachable and comfortable. Like, I wanted to hang out with her. She seemed like a "real" person instead of an untouchable figure. I thought she was going to take that route with her style and music for this era, something more rough around the edges I guess. I don't need her to do a full blown acoustic album or typical band setup, but I do think she has a natural talent that hasn't been thoroughly showcased against more organic instrumentation. I'd normally say she should take a break and go get some real inspiration — but I'm sure she's already feeling some big emotions given the current backlash. Channel that **** girl. 
 

Then again…what do I know? I've cried like a baby to "Daisies" multiple times since she released it, and I feel like I'm the only person in the world who actually liked that song haha.
