pleasantly surprised by the lack of earlier singles, I thought for sure we would've heard half the album once it dropped.

 

If this is even half as good as In Colour, it will be worth a listen. And a Robyn collab omfg... with this and the Charli feature, does it seem like she is preparing a new era to anyone else?

Great album. I'm glad I left most of the singles for the album tbh, though even then Life is probably still my favorite song.

I listened to it on vinyl for the first time last night (shoutout to early delivery) and it shot up to my AOTY pretty quickly.

 

I stopped listening to the singles after "Life," which still goes off, so a lot of it was a surprise -- particularly the second half of the album that features the kind of club music that can actually make you transcend in the middle of a sweaty dance floor in low lights -- taking joy in the existential nature of the rave; we are one, we are also a mass, and we need each other.

 

"Breathe" took me to that place and made me hope to one day hear it in that circumstance.

 

Also the packaging of the 3LP Deluxe is absolutely gorgeous and the mixing is A+.

This is sooooo excellent. 

well... its a no from me. I think this is surprisingly flat and oddly cheesy? The spoken word lyrics in Breather were a genuinely tough listen. I really, really like Daffodil and Life, Baddy on the Floor and All You Children are solid dance tracks, but this didn't make me feel near as many emotions as In Colour did. The wait was not worth it, imo.
