None of these songs are materially similar in a way that could ever legally be defined as copying.

Perhaps we should listen to twitter user @reputanush who seems to have presented a very persuasive case.

 

So we have swifties saying it sounds like Miley, and some Monsters say it sounds like "Joanne", and some people on reddit seem to think it sounds like "Can't Keep Johnny Down" by They Might be Giants.

 

So much plagiarism in one song, I think Spotify is going to have to expand the credits section to accommodate more writers. Or maybe it's just a common pop punk chord progression. I think the verses are just three chords anyway.
