This album is still so ahead of its time :clap3:

/\/\ /\ Y /\ (Arular and Kala too) is such a monumental album :clap3: She was taking risks, working hard as if rent is due, serving woke lyrics and aesthetics à la Madonna's American Life. But music circles did her dirty... Pitchfork 4.4

She was not afraid to portray violence and genocide. There are images of Tamil executions on the gatefold side of the vinyl. People were not ready. And you know you are that GIRL when your controversial music video has its own Wikipedia page! M.I.A.'s Born Free walked so Gambino's TIA could run.

Ahh let me stream the conspiracy theorist's finest work :sistrens:

Ahead of its time, the Candace Owens supporter and vaccine conspiracy theorist kind of snapped here

Fell in love with this song the first time I heard it

It sounded so different and better than everything out at the time :clap3:

Lol, literally yesterday I posted XXXO in the '2010 songs' thread without even noticing the month and day of release :gaycat6:

Definitely one of my favorite M.I.A. songs, and from my favorite album of hers. Way ahead of its time. I was obsessed with the Blingee-style video because I was really into making Blingee graphics back then.
